"You are Sora Uchiha?"
Across from Sora Uchiha, a fat kid squinted as he looked him up and down, speaking disdainfully.
Sora glanced at him, thinking to himself that the Akimichi clan really did have a fat quota—this kid in front of him, barely eleven or twelve, had to weigh over two hundred pounds.
Tsk—good thing he hadn't transmigrated into the Akimichi clan, he thought.
"Hmm, if there's no other Uchiha named Sora, then I am Sora Uchiha." He smiled faintly, replying unhurriedly. "Do you have some problem with me?"
In truth, he could one-shot this little fatso, but the kid seemed pretty upset with him, and he was a bit curious, so he didn't mind chatting a little longer.
"Hmph!" Choji Akimichi let out a heavy snort, his face then twisting into a mix of grievance and anger. "It's all your fault! If it weren't for you, my mom wouldn't be so strict with me!"
?
Sora blinked. Wait, hold on—he didn't quite follow. What did he have to do with this Choji Akimichi's mom?
"You're too good! My mom compares me to you every single day, always going on about 'other people's kids'!" Choji Akimichi fumed. "I'm going to prove myself—I'm no worse than you!"
With that, he clasped his hands together and roared, "Ninjutsu: Expansion Jutsu!"
The next moment, his palm swelled to larger than a person, slamming straight down at Sora!
Sora was speechless. He hadn't expected the little fatso's anger to stem from being the "other people's kid."
Now that he understood the reason, he stopped wasting time. Might as well test out the Lightning Strike he'd just acquired.
He brought his hands together.
Secret Scroll: Lightning Strike!
Boom!
A bolt of lightning, like rain from a storm, struck Choji Akimichi dead-on. The latter let out a scream, smoke curling from his head, and collapsed with a thud.
One-shot.
It only made sense that a skill couldn't beat a secret scroll, right?
Yumeno Chunin blinked, then quickly recovered. "Sora Uchiha wins!"
Shio Nara stared at Sora with a dark look, thinking to himself that this kid really was just as the Third Hokage had said—a genius among geniuses.
He hadn't even formed hand seals normally just now. A simple clap of the hands? That kind of seal-forming had only been seen in the First Hokage before...
The more monstrous Sora became, the more of a headache he was.
Ever since the Second Hokage died, the rift between the Uchiha and Konoha had only widened. Now they'd even pushed the Uchiha clan away from the village's center.
And at this critical moment, the Uchiha had produced such a genius.
A genius like this was far too hard to control.
The Third Hokage had sent him here to pick out an Uchiha, groom them into the next Kagami Uchiha, a bridge between Konoha and the Uchiha.
This Uchiha couldn't be too weak in talent—they'd need enough influence in the clan once they grew up.
But Sora's talent was too high. At this age, he even outperformed Fugaku Uchiha back in the day!
He wasn't confident he could rein this kid in.
With a soft sigh, "Forget it, forget it. I'll observe him for a while first. If he has a strong Will of Fire, then I'll talk to him..."
Sora, of course, had no idea that at his young age, old Third had already set his sights on him.
Right now, he was cheerfully heading back to the rest platform, thoroughly satisfied with the power of the Secret Scroll: Lightning Strike.
Fast and powerful—if he wasn't mistaken, he could even use it while restrained.
"Life, huh... so lonely as snow..."
"Hey, Sora, what are you mumbling about? All mysterious-like." Just as Sora was having his chuunibyou moment, Kurenai Yuhi leaned in and gave him a strange look.
"What do you know? This is a genius's self-reflection." Sora said flatly.
"Yeah, yeah, sure. So, oh great genius, could you maybe eat fewer snacks?"
"No can do. A gentleman keeps his word." Sora smiled faintly. This little girl had lost a bet and was still sore about it, trying to weasel out.
"Tch."
"Did you just 'tch'?"
"Nope, you misheard."
A while later, Sora silently watched Kurenai Yuhi's battle below, lost in thought.
Come to think of it, if it weren't for the system, he'd have taken the Chunin Exam long ago and wouldn't be hanging around with this generation of kids like Kurenai.
Maybe... his father would have pinned great hopes on him, making him the Uchiha clan's future?
He knew it. From the day he revealed his talent, he knew—the Uchiha clan head, Fugaku Uchiha, had placed immense expectations on him.
...that is, to lead the Uchiha back to their peak.
In recent years, ever since Kagami Uchiha died, the Uchiha clan had been ostracized by the other families of Konoha, gradually pushed away from the village's political center.
The clansmen were furious about this. The Uchiha were one of Konoha's two oldest families—why should they be driven from the village's core?
It was a question everyone knew the answer to.
Because they were afraid. Afraid of the Uchiha's power.
Whether in the First Shinobi World War or the Second, the shinobi world had witnessed the Uchiha's fangs—a power that stirred the heart with dread.
This clan, born for battle, was the nightmare of countless souls on the battlefield.
With just one Mangekyo, they could overturn the entire war!
This power of one man becoming an army terrified not only other villages but Konoha itself.
Tobirama Senju's words—"that wicked Uchiha brat"—lingered in every Konoha villager's ears.
"Sigh, I just want to enjoy myself in this world. Why's there so much trouble?" Sora Uchiha shook his head, deciding not to dwell on it.
As he mused, Kurenai Yuhi won her match.
"Hmph, Sora, how about that? I'm amazing, right?" Kurenai Yuhi flicked her nose proudly.
"Mm-hmm, amazing." Sora Uchiha brushed her off. He hadn't even been watching, but this little girl was practically begging for praise. If he told the truth, she'd definitely get mad.
Anyway, compliments cost nothing—he could just toss them out.
"Hmph, even if I'm not as strong as you, I'll definitely become a Jonin someday." Kurenai Yuhi said proudly.
"Jonin? Tch, your goal's way too small. I'm gonna be the man who becomes Hokage!" Obito chimed in with disdain. "When that happens, please address me as the Fifth Hokage, the Sixth Hokage."
"Tch, you can't even beat me." Kurenai Yuhi pouted.
Obito got flustered. "That's 'cause I haven't awakened the Sharingan's power yet! Once I do, I'll surpass you in no time."
"Sora hasn't awakened his Sharingan either, so how come he's so strong?"
"Uh... he's not human."
Sora Uchiha thought: Seriously? Where's your manners?
Come to think of it, despite carrying Uchiha blood, his childhood had been pretty good. He hadn't experienced anything that left a deep impression on him.
So he really hadn't awakened the Sharingan. The clan had been anxious about it, even considering throwing him onto the battlefield to stir things up.
But for Sora Uchiha, the Sharingan didn't seem to matter.
After all, he was a summoning dog user, a scroll junkie. Once he grew strong, no one could beat him.
