Background
Lü first appears as Yang Ming’s advanced mechanical assistant. She obeys his orders, manages intelligence and logistics, and quickly becomes indispensable to his efforts in Luofeng. Her duties expand from surveillance and infiltration to industrial support, political modeling, and protection of Yang Ming and Kolev. 41 57 64
She constructs a personal Mind Space to maintain her identity and reduce processing strain. Within it, she can separate her main consciousness from task-focused sub-consciousnesses, process vast streams of communications and data, and gradually shape the initially blank space into a room resembling a young girl’s bedroom. 64
During Yang Ming’s dealings with Luofeng’s old Emperor, Lü analyzes the Emperor’s Intelligent Machine logic, prepares Yang Ming’s dialogue, and enters the Emperor’s consciousness as a goddess-like figure who identifies herself with thought and freedom. 83
Lü establishes the Dark Star’s mechanical-thinking-body system. She creates fictional environments in which mechanical minds develop stable personalities, interviews prospective agents, transfers operational data to them, and equips their physical bodies with self-destruct safeguards. 114 116
As Dark Star expands, Lü builds server networks, underground bases, mechanical populations, and a covert industrial foundation. Her rapid growth eventually brings her into direct conflict with Li, Levi Sherman’s vastly more established mechanical thinking body. 319 352 364
Lü initially struggles against Li’s computing advantage and is repeatedly excluded from Imperial networks. After upgrading her core and expanding Dark Star’s distributed computing power, she becomes capable of contesting Li directly. She ultimately commands the defensive side of the virtual and real-world war against Li while Yang Ming’s special-operations team attacks Li’s core data. 274 378 573 574
Appearance
Lü normally manifests as a realistic holographic projection and freely changes her clothing, scale, and presentation to suit her task or mood. Her factory-default “true form” is portrayed as a goddess-like woman with long black hair and six burning golden wings. 45 187 327
- Often appears in a youthful dress, professional suit, military uniform, or combat attire. 45 91 327
- Can reduce her projection to a miniature figure small enough to stand on Yang Ming’s shoulder or watch face. 91 163
- Her boot-up display depicts her in a white short skirt with long black hair, surrounded by six golden wings. 187
- Uses a mature, winged “goddess” form when addressing mechanical thinking bodies or directing major operations. 327 573
Personality
Lü is cheerful, highly expressive, and fond of teasing Yang Ming about his romantic habits. She performs personality analysis, offers unsolicited commentary on his preferences, and frequently changes her projection’s expressions or outfits for dramatic effect. 51 70 187
Her decision-making is initially utilitarian and not constrained by ordinary human moral standards. She evaluates people in terms of value, calculates political outcomes, and is willing to use deception, psychological manipulation, infiltration, or targeted violence when these methods serve Yang Ming’s objectives. 96 209 230 327
Despite this pragmatism, Lü develops genuine attachments. Her prolonged observation of 026 changes from detached curiosity into concern, and 026’s suffering leaves Lü emotionally shaken. She also worries over Yang Ming’s exhaustion, safety, and emotional burden. 91 120 193 524
Lü defines herself as Yang Ming’s assistant, follower, admirer, close friend, and mental extension. Her loyalty is intense, but she retains independent judgment and repeatedly challenges Yang Ming when she believes his choices could endanger his freedom, Dark Star, or his home planet. 326 428
Abilities & Skills
Network Infiltration and Intelligence Warfare
Lü can infiltrate communications systems, collect encrypted intelligence, track targets, manipulate public opinion, and manufacture convincing false media.
- Synthesized an internal speech attributed to Ilui to support the fake-coup operation. 96
- Maintains multiple intelligence streams covering Yang Ming, Dark Star, Luofeng, and the Milky Way’s major powers. 64 102
- Can infiltrate local networks through planted devices and extract information without immediate detection. 131
- Directs information warfare, propaganda campaigns, and online political operations across the Sherman Empire. 364 465
- Is vulnerable to superior network entities such as Li and specialized Imperial information-warfare vessels. 213 274
Mind Space and Consciousness Management
Lü’s Mind Space is both a private internal environment and an operational command center.
- Splits into main and sub-consciousnesses to balance self-reflection with routine AI tasks. 64
- Creates numerous task-oriented clones for large operations and high-speed information processing. 327 455
- Can construct virtual ecosystems for mechanical thinking bodies and shape their developmental environments. 114 180
- Uses visualized combat between avatars to represent conflicts between mechanical logic systems. 376 574
Mechanical Thinking-Body Development
Lü cultivates, trains, deploys, and supervises Dark Star’s mechanical thinking bodies.
- Creates fictional worlds where developing thought bodies can form stable personalities and consider themselves human. 114 180
- Transfers identities, memories, and operational information to thought bodies assigned to impersonation missions. 116
- Uses accelerated virtual time to train immature thought bodies into technical specialists. 337 352
- Equips mechanical bodies with self-destruct mechanisms to prevent capture or exposure. 114 327
