The Swordsman
Before long, the courtyard was already crowded with people. Bathed in the glow of the setting sun, they all looked bright and spirited.
Bi Fan took a look. It seemed that Yu Bo Yi was the only one who hadn't returned.
He wasn't surprised. Given Yu Bo Yi's personality, he would rather come back empty-handed than choose someone he wasn't satisfied with.
Night deepened. Even after Bi Fan had arranged for everyone to settle in the people they had brought back, Yu Bo Yi was still nowhere to be seen.
Looking up at the moon high overhead, Bi Fan guessed it was already well into the second half of the night. He gave a wry smile. Could Yu Bo Yi really have come up empty?
Just then, the creak of a door opening drew his gaze.
Yu Bo Yi walked in from outside, his expression somewhat complicated. Bi Fan hurried over and asked, "What's wrong?"
Yu Bo Yi replied with a bitter smile, "Brother Bi, I searched all day and didn't find a single person I was satisfied with. But on my way back, I ran into someone."
Bi Fan paused. "Who?"
"I don't know."
Yu Bo Yi couldn't help laughing at himself. What was he supposed to say to that?
He rubbed his nose and said, "I don't know who he is. I just had a feeling he might be a good choice, so I wanted to trade a few blows with him."
"And then? You didn't just pick a fight with him, did you?"
Yu Bo Yi blinked. "What's wrong with that?"
Bi Fan gave a bitter laugh, pressed a hand to his forehead, and sighed. "Fine. I suppose there's nothing wrong with it. Go on."
