Outnumbered Four
Li Siter furrowed his brow slightly. He truly hadn't expected the Chaos Celestial Venerables he'd recruited to number as many as seven. By his calculations, there should have been only five.
Xiao Lian turned to look at him and said softly, "Young Master Li."
"Senior." He immediately cupped his hands, a faint, rueful smile in his eyes. "Sorry, I didn't expect him to have so many people."
Xiao Lian shook his head, a rare gentleness in his eyes. "No, you've done all you could. Thank you. Leave the rest to me."
As soon as he finished speaking, he pointed at Kan Huaisheng. "Enough stalling. Let's settle this."
The latter seemed to have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Without a word, he soared into the air.
The other six also struck in perfect unison, but Fu Shen, Tang Qing, and An Chixi quickly intercepted them. Just as Li Siter moved to stop one of them, a figure flashed before him, and Li Chaoge and Kan Xiao appeared.
Kan Xiao rubbed his nose and sneered. "Young Master Li, why don't you play with the two of us?"
Li Siter frowned and said nothing. It seemed Xiao Lian would have to face four opponents alone.
Given Kan Huaisheng's temperament, he would never let those with greater strength take them on. After all, as their appointed restraints, all they had to do was keep one another from interfering with the battlefield.
Xiao Lian's expression was impassive. As he watched the four powerful streams of Chaos Qi sweep tentatively toward him, a trace of gravity passed through his eyes.
A million years ago, he had also challenged several opponents of equal rank by himself. He felt no fear now; instead, his blood surged with excitement.
Who hadn't been young?
