We Meet Again
The atmosphere in the square turned strange. Most of the spectators were confused. No one knew which side this other Chaos Celestial Venerable who had suddenly appeared belonged to—or what choice he would make.
Kan Huaisheng narrowed his eyes, suppressing his anger. He was deeply dissatisfied with Su Xingchen's disrespectful attitude, but he also knew that if he didn't win this man over today, the Witch Spirit Sword might truly be forever beyond his reach!
He forced a trace of warmth onto his face and looked at him calmly. "You don't seem to have much sincerity about working with me, either, do you?"
Su Xingchen smiled faintly as he waved his fan. "I never planned to work with you. Otherwise, I would've shown up earlier."
His brow furrowed. "If that's the case, then why have you come to get involved now?"
Su Xingchen shrugged. "That's none of your business. I'm just here to see an old rival."
"You!" Kan Huaisheng was furious. If this had happened on any other day, with his usual temper, he would have attacked already.
Li Chaoge hurried forward and quietly tried to soothe him. "Uncle Kan, don't be angry. Those two have always been like fire and water. We don't need to do anything; they'll fight each other on their own!"
Kan Huaisheng narrowed his eyes as he watched Su Xingchen's unconcerned expression. After a moment, he said coolly, "That may not be the case."
Su Xingchen had already turned around. Looking at Xiao Lian, who stood motionless in the air, he smiled. "We meet again."
Xiao Lian's indifferent face showed little emotion. He simply watched Su Xingchen in silence. The two stood facing each other, almost like friends who hadn't seen one another in a long time.
