The Desperate Beginning
Time flew by. In the blink of an eye, ten years had passed.
After ten years of cultivation, Bi Fan had trained the Dragon God Body Tempering Technique to the Steel Tendons realm. His body was as tough as steel, and every inch of him radiated terrifying explosive power.
In the village, he was acknowledged as the strongest after Gu Chui.
Over those ten years, Bi Fan had fought in fifty-six battles against the Beast Tide. He had gone from trembling with unease when facing the evil beasts to bathing in their blood as he slaughtered his way across the battlefield. His progress had been astonishing.
Bi Fan had also fully integrated into the village. The villagers had set aside their prejudices and accepted him as one of their own, showering him with love and support.
Standing atop the stockade wall and looking out over Da Gu Village, which had changed little in ten years, Bi Fan furrowed his brow.
"Brother Fan, is something troubling you again?"
A bright voice rang out. Bi Fan turned and saw a tall, straight-backed figure approaching. It was Gu Xu, now taller and more robust than he had been ten years ago. He wore beast-hide armor, and his long hair was tied back, giving him a valiant, handsome air.
Gu Xu had also reached the Steel Tendons realm, but two years later than Bi Fan. He was still a little weaker than Bi Fan; without Bi Fan, he would have been the strongest after Gu Chui.
Watching Gu Xu approach, Bi Fan turned his gaze toward the Evil Beast Forest beyond the village. A faint mist had already settled over it.
"The Beast Tide is coming more and more often. We only held one back last month, and now another is
