Yang Chongxiao Is Ambushed
"Ah, who are you? Why do you feel so familiar to me?"
In an instant, as Yang Chongxiao murmured, a complicated look appeared on the face of the travel-worn girl who had just arrived.
Seeing this, everyone felt a surge of joy for Yang Chongxiao.
After all, a resemblance in appearance alone wasn't enough to confirm their relationship, but if it was accompanied by a familiar feeling...
"Tingting, my Tingting! Grandpa finally found you. Finally."
In that moment, Yang Chongxiao saw no one but the girl before him. He rushed forward and pulled her into his arms, tears welling in his eyes.
But as he held her, an intense look of struggle appeared on the girl's face.
His feelings didn't seem false, and his embrace was so warm. The sensation was as if the old man before her were the most important family member in her life.
"Ah, danger! Let go of me!"
Perhaps the bond of blood outweighed the cold-heartedness she had been taught. The girl shoved at Yang Chongxiao, but, unfortunately, she couldn't move him.
Then, a sudden change occurred.
The girl's hair became countless sharp needles, glinting with a dark, poisonous sheen, and shot toward Yang Chongxiao, piercing straight through his neck.
In an instant, Yang Chongxiao lost all strength and fell backward helplessly. Even so, with his cultivation, he could have killed the girl on the spot if he had fought back. But he didn't.
His eyes still held the same warmth as ever.
At that moment, the girl, having landed her attack, seemed to have lost her soul. She hurriedly caught Yang Chongxiao as he was about to fall.
"Who are you? Who are you really? Why...?"
Agonizing pain filled the girl's eyes, and she seemed utterly bereft of her soul.
