Chapter 858: Hunting the Lizard King
The formation was an improved version of the Coiling Dragon Strangling Array, devised by Bi Fan. It should now be called the Infinite Coiling Dragon Strangling Array. Its defining feature was that as long as the Formation Eye remained intact, it could persist indefinitely, until every hostile aura within it had been wiped out.
Its drawback was that it wasn't very effective against opponents even slightly stronger than its user. At most, it could stall them.
Still, it was perfect for dealing with the army of lizards. Aside from their numbers, thick hides, and sharp teeth and claws, those creatures didn't have much else going for them.
Once everything was in place, Bi Fan wiped the sweat from his forehead. Between channeling several techniques and using Soul Power, even he felt the strain.
Fortunately, he was quite satisfied with the result. He turned toward the old man and called out with a laugh, "Senior, I'll leave this place to you!"
He needed to hurry after the Lizard King, which was fleeing desperately into the depths underground.
As soon as that creature sensed his presence, it had sent the lizard army to attack. When it realized they couldn't win, it had ordered them to charge forward in a frenzy while it looked for a chance to flee deeper underground. Bi Fan had seen through the little beast's plan from the start and had no intention of letting it get away.
He raised his hand, and a blast of spiritual energy blew apart the thick yellow sand, exposing the dark-brown hard earth beneath.
Like other deserts, the Desolate Plains had more than just yellow sand underground. There were also layers of earth, rocks, underground rivers, swamps, and other terrain.
