An Earnest Persuasion
After hearing his explanation, Ling Xiaoxiao's expression softened a little. She snorted. "What are you panicking for? I'll deal with those things for you! Once those Beast Tide forces charge in, just make sure you don't get yourselves killed by them."
When they heard her say she would take on the four Beast Kings alone, everyone—including Bi Fan—stared at her in disbelief.
They were shocked by her sheer audacity, for one thing. For another, how could they let a little girl charge into battle for them? Where would their pride be if word got out?
Xi Boyun gave a wry smile. "Miss Xiao Xiao, we may be less useful without our spiritual power, but we can't let you face something so dangerous all by yourself!"
"How about this? Brother Bi and Brother Hou here are both fighters with spiritual power. I may not be much, but while I don't have spiritual power, my formation skills are still decent. I can take on one Beast King—not necessarily defeat it, but at least keep it occupied so it can't interfere with everyone else. As for the last Beast King, Miss Xiao Xiao can handle it. How does that sound?"
His argument was clear and well-reasoned, the sort that would be hard not to find convincing. Unfortunately, he was dealing with Little Ancestor Aunt, who couldn't be swayed by either force or reason and did whatever she pleased.
She blinked at him a few times, then shot back, "Are you doubting my strength?"
Xi Boyun broke into a cold sweat. Remembering the overwhelming spiritual power that had tossed him aside earlier, he hastily waved his hands and explained, "Of course not! I know Miss Xiao Xiao is powerful and highly skilled. You must not think much of these Beast Kings!"
