Forced out of the green barrier by the Source Spirit Bird's power, Bi Fan watched the Flood Dragon Formation Spirit closing in on him. His heart began thumping wildly before he could stop it.
He quickly held his breath, not daring to make the slightest rash move. The Flood Dragon only glared viciously at the motionless Source Spirit Bird in the distance, its gaze occasionally sweeping over the golden-glowing Dragon Clan Inner Core. Apart from that, it showed no other reaction. It seemed it really hadn't spotted him.
Only then did Bi Fan let out a breath. Carefully, he shifted his body, slowly moving away from the enormous creature.
Once he had put some distance between them, he looked around at the place before him, dark as a cave. He vaguely recalled that the formation lay beneath the Lightning-Struck Wood deep in the valley. That meant he must be far underground now, in a space that might have formed naturally or been carved out by the impact of spiritual energy. It was somewhat like the underground passage beneath the Dragon Severing Mountain Range.
The difference was that this space was far more vast. If not for the lack of sunlight and vegetation, it would have been almost indistinguishable from the valley above.
And finding the Formation Heart in this enormous place with no clues to guide him? Easier said than done. Bi Fan stood there, bewildered. After a moment, he could only shake his head with a wry smile. He'd have to trust his instincts.
