Chapter 4: Mysterious Grand Canyon
The tiger, king of beasts, would be even more terrifying if it became a Mo Beast.
Just by the sound of its roar, one could tell this tiger had cultivated Inner Breath and become a Mo Tiger.
Bi Fan leaped lightly to the ground and quickly rushed towards the source of the sound.
Having finally encountered a Mo Beast, Bi Fan didn't want to miss this perfect opportunity to hone his martial skills.
Bi Fan's footwork unfurled, and he darted through the forest like a nimble leopard.
In a short while, Bi Fan spotted the Mo Beast.
It was a Mo Tiger, two meters tall and about four meters long, with pure white fur and powerful limbs, moving swiftly through the forest in search of food.
"What a magnificent Mo Tiger! How cool would it be to have such a mount!" Bi Fan praised inwardly.
Unfortunately, it was just a thought. Mo Beasts possessed a certain level of intelligence and were extremely proud; subduing one was far more difficult than killing it.
The Mo Tiger's body was sleek and exuded power.
Bi Fan compared himself secretly, knowing he was no match for the Mo Tiger in terms of strength.
Bi Fan held his breath and followed the Mo Tiger from a distance.
Before long, the Mo Tiger hunted a wild boar weighing around two hundred jin and carried it away.
The Mo Tiger's speed in killing the wild boar was astonishing; a single pounce was all it took, far more formidable than a Mo Wolf.
Bi Fan watched, his heart pounding, daring not to act rashly. He followed the Mo Tiger back to its cave, intending to assess the situation before deciding whether to make a move.
The Mo Tiger's cave was enormous, three meters high and four meters wide, with an unfathomably deep interior.
Seeing the Mo Tiger disappear inside, Bi Fan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He found a large tree directly facing the cave, climbed it, and decided to observe for a while.
The Mo Tiger must have gone to enjoy its meal. Bi Fan sat on a branch, waiting patiently.
Suddenly, the Dragon Sable poked its head out from Bi Fan's embrace, letting out a "squeak" and staring intently at the cave.
Bi Fan quickly covered the Dragon Sable's mouth, afraid of alerting the Mo Tiger.
"Don't make noise, there's a powerful Mo Tiger inside the cave," Bi Fan whispered.
The Dragon Sable understood Bi Fan's words and fell silent. However, it continued to hop and skip on Bi Fan's shoulder, appearing anxious.
Bi Fan finally understood, "There must be a treasure in the cave, otherwise Greedy Sable wouldn't be so agitated."
But thinking of the ferocious Mo Tiger, Bi Fan felt like retreating.
That Mo Tiger was not ordinarily strong, and Bi Fan had no confidence in defeating it.
The Dragon Sable kept gesturing, indicating that there was likely a top-grade Spiritual Medicine in the cave, and it would be a pity to give up.
Bi Fan hesitated, not leaving, and remained in the large tree.
Waiting for dawn, it was still a long way off.
Rushing into the cave, he had no idea what the situation inside was; it was extremely dangerous.
Bi Fan's head spun, truly unsure of what to do.
The Dragon Sable grew more impatient, its demeanor suggesting that whatever was in the cave would greatly benefit it.
"Alright, be quiet for a moment. I'll go scout it out," Bi Fan said helplessly.
The Dragon Sable immediately quieted down, its eyes filled with anticipation. It was so human-like and incredibly cute.
Bi Fan approached the cave entrance and peered inside. It was too dark to see far, and he still couldn't discern the situation within.
Bi Fan bent down, picked up a small stone, and tossed it into the cave.
"Crack!" A sound echoed.
The Mo Tiger, in the midst of its meal, was interrupted and became furious.
"Roar!" A thunderous roar erupted, causing Bi Fan's ears to ache.
Immediately after, a white blur shot out from the cave with astonishing speed.
Bi Fan quickly retreated, but the Mo Tiger was faster, appearing before him in an instant.
The Mo Tiger stared at Bi Fan, letting out a low growl, poised to attack.
Bi Fan's scalp tingled. He quickly drew his Flowing Light Sword and prepared his defense.
"Roar!" With a mighty roar, the Mo Tiger lunged at Bi Fan.
Its gaping maw opened wide, aiming for Bi Fan's head.
Bi Fan calmed himself and unleashed Carefree Immortal Finger, shooting directly towards the Mo Tiger's mouth.
He had used this move to kill a Viscera Realm Mo Wolf and intended to repeat the tactic.
Unfortunately, the Mo Tiger was clearly much more sensitive to energy. It changed direction in mid-air, evading Bi Fan's attack, while its tail, over two meters long, swept towards Bi Fan.
The tail whistled through the air, full of power.
Bi Fan retreated, and the Flowing Light Sword met the attack.
"Crack!" Bi Fan felt his tiger's mouth split open, and the Flowing Light Sword almost flew out of his hand.
He looked closely and saw that the Mo Tiger's tail was completely unharmed, only a few hairs had fallen out.
"What powerful strength! What a tough technique!" Bi Fan was greatly shocked.
The Mo Tiger was too powerful and difficult to deal with.
Bi Fan put all his energy into it, not daring to be distracted in the slightest.
The Mo Tiger's attack was unsuccessful, and it became somewhat enraged. It agilely turned its body and pounced on Bi Fan again.
Qingyang Gentle Wind Sword Art!
Bi Fan unleashed several moves of the sword art, but they only managed to hold back the Mo Tiger for a moment, and he couldn't inflict any damage.
The Mo Tiger definitely had the strength of the Valiance realm, and it was even harder to deal with than human experts in the Valiance realm.
Suddenly, the Dragon Sable on the tree flashed and rushed into the cave. Bi Fan, facing the cave, saw it clearly.
Bi Fan frowned, unsure of what the Dragon Sable was trying to do, and felt a little worried for it.
To distract the Mo Tiger, Bi Fan unleashed the Floating Rain Flying Flowers Sword, Carefree Immortal Finger, Blood Demon Technique, and Dragon Roaring Tiger Howling Fist, launching a rapid assault.
Strike and retreat, not seeking merit but merely avoiding fault.
Bi Fan pushed his movement technique to the extreme, managing to avoid injury.
The Mo Tiger had been struck by Bi Fan's Flowing Light Sword several times. Although it wasn't injured, its rage had erupted.
Biting, pouncing, clawing, tail sweeping, roaring...
The Mo Tiger used all the weapons at its disposal, but Bi Fan was like a loach, slippery and elusive, always dodging at the critical moment.
Bi Fan had been fighting the Mo Tiger for a long time, knowing that it wasn't easy to defeat it for now. He could only stall for time and retreat once the Dragon Sable came out.
To defeat the Mo Tiger, Bi Fan would have to risk a mutual destruction, and he wasn't willing to take that risk.
In the Demon Realm, getting into a mutual destruction situation would be suicidal.
Bi Fan tangled with the Mo Tiger for a while and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the Dragon Sable dart out.
Bi Fan hesitated no longer, dodged the Mo Tiger's pounce, and darted into the forest.
If not now, then when?
The Dragon Sable was very smart, leaping from tree to tree, following Bi Fan.
Bi Fan had enraged the Mo Tiger, and it certainly wouldn't let him go so easily. It chased closely behind Bi Fan.
Bi Fan ran in an arc, weaving through the trees.
The Mo Tiger's body was too large, and weaving through the forest was not as agile as Bi Fan. Soon, Bi Fan had lost it.
As soon as Bi Fan stopped to rest, the Dragon Sable jumped onto his shoulder.
"Greedy Sable, did you find something good?"
"Squeak..." The Dragon Sable cried out excitedly, clearly having benefited, but it seemed to have already eaten it. He didn't know what it was.
Bi Fan wanted to ask more, but the Dragon Sable burrowed into his embrace and fell into a deep sleep.
"Could the Dragon Sable be evolving?" Bi Fan was extremely surprised.
What kind of treasure could cause the Dragon Sable to evolve? It was definitely extraordinary.
"Roar! Roar!..." These earth-shattering roars were from the Mo Tiger, which had clearly discovered that the treasure it was guarding was gone.
"Mo Tiger, when my training is over, I'll come back for you. It won't be this easy then." Bi Fan quickly left.
The Demon Realm was vast and boundless, with places to shelter everywhere.
Bi Fan found a place to rest for the night and set off early the next morning.
Having just entered the Demon Realm for training, he had to seize the time to fight more Mo Beasts and improve his strength, otherwise, his trip to the Demon Realm would be in vain.
Bi Fan wasn't here to become an Inner Disciple; what he wanted was to rapidly increase his cultivation.
Everything else was fleeting; strength was the most important thing.
As long as he had strength, he could still beat up Inner Disciples until their mothers wouldn't recognize them.
Bi Fan moved as lightly as a swallow, weaving through the forest. Whenever he saw any valuable Spiritual Medicine, he would stop to pick it.
The Demon Realm was too vast. Despite so many people coming in for training and adventure, it was hard to encounter humans.
Bi Fan spent another three days in the Demon Realm forest, during which he hunted five Mo Beasts and dozens of wild beasts. He never encountered another human.
Bi Fan spent all day hunting Mo Beasts, and even when resting at night, he had to remain vigilant, constantly in a state of high tension.
After three days, Bi Fan was exhausted, but his gains were also considerable, and his strength had improved rapidly.
Bi Fan experienced both pain and pleasure.
The Dragon Sable had not yet woken up, and Bi Fan felt extremely bored, only able to continuously search for Mo Beasts to hunt.
On the fourth day, Bi Fan was chasing a Mo Leopard and entered a large canyon.
The canyon was about a kilometer wide, with cliffs on both sides. The canyon floor was covered in towering trees, and amidst the trees and on the cliff faces, various precious Spiritual Medicine could be seen everywhere.
The Mo Leopard had long since disappeared, having been thoroughly intimidated by Bi Fan.
Bi Fan stood at the canyon entrance, speechless for a long time.
The canyon entrance was extremely hidden. Without following the Mo Leopard, it would have been impossible to find. Even upon reaching this spot, it would be difficult to discover the entrance with careful searching.
One had to pass through a narrow passage to see the canyon. The passage slanted downwards, winding and with many forks, taking over two hours to traverse.
What a pleasant surprise! Bi Fan was astonished.
The beauty of the great canyon was magnificent, with flowers, plants, birds, beasts, and babbling streams, truly like a paradise.
Looking up, the canyon walls were of an unknown height, but at least those below the Mortal Transformation Realm could not descend the cliffs.
Generally, experts in the Mortal Transformation Realm would not be found lingering in the outermost areas of the Demon Realm; it was a deeply shameful matter.
The deeper one went into the Demon Realm, the more treasures there were. True powerhouses would not venture to the outer areas to try their luck.
No wonder no one had picked the Spiritual Medicine inside the canyon; it all made sense now.
Bi Fan understood the key point and felt much more at ease.
To be safe, Bi Fan did not rush to pick the ripe Spiritual Medicine. He wanted to scout the area first to ensure there were no dangers.
He didn't know where the Mo Leopard was hiding; it would be best to find and kill it to eliminate future trouble.
Entering the jungle, Bi Fan held his Flowing Light Sword, moving with extreme caution.
The spiritual energy here was dense, and it was possible that powerful Mo Beasts resided here. If there were any Yao Beasts, Bi Fan would have no choice but to flee.
Along the way, Bi Fan saw many rare Spiritual Medicine, but he only recognized a portion of them.
The fragrance emitted by the various Spiritual Medicine was intoxicating, invigorating the spirit, and even causing the Inner Breath within his body to stir restlessly.
These Spiritual Medicine were too precious. If he could take them out, he didn't know how many crystal stones he could exchange for, or how many top-grade Pills he could refine.
Bi Fan's heart pounded, and he reached out to pick a Seven-Colored Fruit in front of him.
The Seven-Colored Fruit took a hundred years to bloom, a hundred years to bear fruit, and another hundred years to mature. It was a primary ingredient for refining the Primordial Spirit Pill and was extremely precious.
"Roar!" Before Bi Fan's hand could reach it, he heard an angry roar that nearly shattered his eardrums and shook his mind.
Just by the sound of the roar, he knew the Mo Beast was incredibly powerful, far beyond what Bi Fan could handle.
Bi Fan abandoned the idea of picking the Seven-Colored Fruit and headed straight for the canyon entrance.
As he fled, Bi Fan also took the opportunity to pick a Thousand-Year Ginseng.
As soon as he got his hands on it, he felt an immense pressure crushing him, making it difficult even to breathe.
Bi Fan did not dare to delay, channeling his energy with all his might as he fled, entering the passage where the pressure significantly decreased.
For some unknown reason, the powerful Mo Beast within the canyon showed no intention of pursuing.
