To commemorate Wei Guangming and Yan Se, Wang Yue had Shushan Academy begin accepting students from the public, teaching science and engineering. The instructors were disciples from Ink Pool Academy who had originally studied manufacturing alongside Wei Guangming and Yan Se.
Many people from the Great River Kingdom and Tang Kingdom who heard the news came to enroll, carrying word of the light brought by technology throughout the northern and southern parts of the continent.
The Guangming Plan, which Wei Guangming had overseen from its inception, also began spreading through the counties near Shushan. As infrastructure was laid down, many of the people nearby began living with electric lights, and the night was no longer quite so dark.
Some traveling merchants also spread word of the situation throughout the continent, helping the people of the Haotian Continent understand that the legendary darkness was nothing to fear. When the sun disappeared, people could make light for themselves. Humanity could overcome Heaven.
As time passed, Wang Yue's designs enabled the fusion reactors left behind by Wei Guangming and Master Yan Se to replace steam engines. The people nearby also learned that in exchange for help plowing their fields, they had to haul a cartload of rocks for every hundred mu of land.
After the first villager tried it, the others began carrying rocks over to ask for help one after another. The disciples of Shushan Academy turned no one away, and the people living at the foot of Shushan no longer had to work their fields so hard. They admired the newly established Shushan Academy even more and held Shushan in even greater reverence.
Some even joined the disciples of Shushan in paying their respects to Wei Guangming, Yan Se, and the legendary Empress Nuwa.
