Where Did the Men's Bathhouse Go?

Wang Yue saw that Zheng Wei seemed to have spotted him, so he couldn't just walk straight in. He waited where he was, watching the pretty girl slowly approach. He had to admit, beautiful girls were a treat for the eyes.

"Wang Yue, what a coincidence!" Zheng Wei called out when she saw him from a distance. It felt like fate. They'd only been here a few days, and they'd already run into each other so many times.

"Yeah, I think so too. Neither of us knew the hot water was shut off on a schedule! Looks like we're pretty fated, huh? What do you think we should do about it?" Wang Yue said with a cheeky grin.

But lately, there was more than a little of Xiao Nai in Wang Yue's words and actions. After all, he'd spent three years learning from him. That cheeky expression only made him look a little goofy to Zheng Wei.

The first few times she'd met Wang Yue, he'd seemed rather aloof. Now, seeing him act so goofy all of a sudden left Zheng Wei momentarily stunned.

She quickly came to her senses. Ignoring Wang Yue's question, she looked at the other three and asked, "Are these your roommates?"

"Yeah, we're all in the same dorm, and they're all in the civil engineering department. You've probably seen them in class!" Wang Yue hurriedly introduced his roommates to Zheng Wei.

Zheng Wei greeted them openly and explained that she'd been busy lately and hadn't gotten to know many people in class. She apologized for it.

After seeing Zheng Wei up close, Zhang Yang, Han Wen, and Liu Lei all seemed to lose a good chunk of their IQ. They could only mumble that it was fine, and didn't even know how to strike up a conversation.

Seeing how the three of them were acting, Zheng Wei smugly thought, Now that's how freshmen are supposed to react when they see a pretty girl.

She turned back to look at Wang Yue and saw that he seemed perfectly normal. But that was the most abnormal thing of all!

They were chatting happily in the lobby when two people suddenly walked over from a corner. Wang Yue took a closer look and realized one of them was Zhang Kai, whom he'd met during registration.

"Zheng Wei, are you going to take a shower? Where's your roommate? Didn't you come together?" Before Zhang Kai could say anything, the other guy with him jumped in with three questions in a row.

"I don't talk to people with no manners!" Zheng Wei still held a grudge. She haughtily turned her head away and ignored him, then turned to Wang Yue and the others and waved her delicate hand. "I'm going in first. Bye!"

It was her first time at the public bathhouse. She looked from one side to the other. The one on the right had no sign, while the one on the left was marked "Women's Bathhouse." Sure of which was which, she headed for the left-hand entrance.

Wang Yue vaguely remembered seeing a guy go in there when they'd first arrived. He quickly warned her, just in case.

"Zheng Wei, I'm pretty sure a guy went into the one on the left five minutes ago," Wang Yue said with absolute certainty.

"But it says 'Women's' right there!" Zheng Wei said, baffled.

"No way!" Wang Yue's roommates stepped closer to check. Sure enough, it said "Women."

"That tall, skinny person was a woman?" Fourth Brother Liu Lei looked incredulous.

"She couldn't have been a woman! I thought that person looked like a guy," Han Wen said, trying to remember what they looked like.

"Zheng Wei, wait here. Don't go in yet. I'll find the attendant and have her check." Zhang Yang was eager to help. Without waiting for a reply, he headed to the nearby office.

"Then you guys take care of it. We'll get going!" The moment Zhang Kai heard they were going to find the bathhouse attendant, he sensed trouble and hurriedly dragged Xu Kaiyang away.

Watching them leave, Wang Yue shook his head. The guilty looks on their faces were ridiculous. Weren't they already sophomores? They were acting like a couple of kids. If this turned into a real incident and was handled badly, they'd definitely be punished.

They'd barely been gone a few minutes when the bathhouse attendant arrived. One look at the situation and she understood what had happened. After asking a few questions and learning that nothing serious had occurred, she didn't say much. She stepped over and put the sign on the left back where it belonged.

As for the men's bathhouse sign, they couldn't find it anywhere. The attendant was quick on her feet, though. She went back, grabbed a marker, and wrote two big characters on the door. What did they say? Everyone knew.

Zheng Wei was completely stunned. She might be nicknamed the Jade-Faced Little Flying Dragon, but she was still scared out of her wits. If she'd accidentally walked into the men's bathhouse and been caught, she'd have been done for. Brother Lin Jing would never want her again.

At the thought, her big eyes instantly filled with tears. How could anyone be so awful? Just let me find out who did this! Zheng Wei thought furiously.

Xu Kaiyang, who had already run quite a distance, shivered. He quickly asked Zhang Kai, "We ran off like that. Do you think anything's going to happen?"

Zhang Kai replied without much confidence, "Probably not. There wasn't anyone around when we switched the signs."

"But those guys talking to Zheng Wei came over right then, didn't they? If they report us, we're done for!" Xu Kaiyang stopped short, worry written all over his voice.

"Kaiyang, maybe we should go to the bathhouse attendant and admit what we did. At least nothing happened, so the punishment shouldn't be too bad."

"You sure?" Three question marks seemed to pop up over Xu Kaiyang's head.

"Of course. We'll say we were watching the whole time and wouldn't let anyone actually get hurt!" Zhang Kai felt a lot more confident now.

"Then let's go?"

"Let's go."

Who knew how they managed to confess and fool the kind attendant? Anyway, when Wang Yue and his roommates came out, they saw Zhang Kai and Xu Kaiyang standing in the middle of the bathing hall, each holding a sheet of A4 paper. One read "← Men," and the other "Women →."

Before they came out, Chen Xiaozheng had finished washing at his own unhurried pace and packed up his toiletries. As soon as he stepped outside, he saw Zhang Kai and Xu Kaiyang standing there. He glanced at them, didn't say a word, and turned to leave.

When Wang Yue and the other three came out and saw the two signs, they knew that was how the attendant had dealt with it. As they passed the attendant's window, Wang Yue gave her a thumbs-up. The attendant saw him and immediately broke into a delighted, utterly unrestrained grin.

More than ten minutes after Wang Yue left, Zheng Wei finished washing up and came out. She spotted the two of them at once. When she saw the signs in their hands, she immediately doubled over laughing.

As if she suddenly remembered something, she quickly forced herself to stop laughing and walked out the door. But she hadn't gone far before her clear laughter could be heard in the distance.

Hearing her laugh, the bathhouse attendant shook her head. That girl is so innocent. I wonder who'll trick her.

Xu Kaiyang stared blankly in the direction Zheng Wei had gone, completely lost in thought. That girl was so beautiful! He must have been out of his mind on the first day of school.

Zhang Kai looked at Xu Kaiyang, then at the direction Zheng Wei had gone, and suddenly realized that Guan Guan had just lost her biggest rival for a suitor. He felt fantastic!
