Si Teng wanted to point out that wearing underwear meant it wasn't streaking, but Wang Yue had already covered her eyes, and she didn't try to move his hand.
She waited until the footsteps had faded into the distance before pulling Wang Yue's hand away. Then she asked uncertainly, "Someone must have been chasing him, right? The person sounded really panicked!"
At Si Teng's reminder, Wang Yue looked around and spotted a white figure a hundred meters away, racing toward them.
He hadn't expected Si Teng to be so sharp even without her magic. Feeling helpless, he said, "There's a white fox chasing him."
Si Teng looked at the enormous white fox and furrowed her brow. "I hardly ever saw any demons before. Now that we've met people from the Animal Management Bureau, I've realized they're everywhere."
While the two of them were talking, the white fox ran up to them. Apparently seeing them blocking the way, it opened its mouth to howl.
Wang Yue quickly clamped a hand over the white fox's mouth, stopping it from making a sound. Then he grabbed it by the scruff with one hand, and the fox immediately settled down.
After looking it over, Wang Yue said with a helpless sigh, "It's a drunk fox, too. Looks like an Arctic Silver Fox!"
Si Teng covered her nose and said irritably, "Can demons get drunk? Didn't you say they only reacted to liquor mixed with number 45 realgar, and otherwise wouldn't have any reaction?"
Wang Yue knew Si Teng had learned that from the documents he'd brought back from the Third Bureau. He replied helplessly, "They can hold their liquor. That doesn't mean they can't get completely drunk. Who knows how much this fox drank? It'd be stranger if she weren't drunk."
Si Teng watched
