Not long after Wang Yue and Zhen Zhen drove away from the spot where their tire had blown, another car came along. When the driver saw which way they had gone, they cursed their bad luck and drove off.
There wasn't much navigation available at the time. Wang Yue could still tell which way they were going, but country roads didn't run straight north and south, so their route wound around quite a bit.
Zhen Zhen was curious about the fields and farmland. She felt that this unexpected detour had let her see a different kind of scenery, and it lifted her mood.
Seeing how happy Zhen Zhen was, Wang Yue slowed down and drove along while chatting with her.
It was nearly dark when Wang Yue finally prepared to leave the fields. His eyesight was excellent, and he spotted a village in the distance, so he decided to stop there and buy something to eat.
As they passed a peach orchard behind the village, Zhen Zhen gazed at the beautiful trees and said enviously, "This place is so beautiful! I can't even imagine how gorgeous it must be in March or April!
"Someone lives here, too. Let's ask if we can stay at their place for the night."
Wang Yue saw the envy in Zhen Zhen's eyes and guessed she wanted to see whether the Xie Family had any pictures of a peach orchard. He replied irritably, "It is beautiful, but it's too far from the village. It might not be very safe. If we stayed here, would you be able to sleep?"
Seeing how he was dampening her excitement, Zhen Zhen quickly buttered him up. "Brother, you're so strong. How could it be unsafe? With you here, I'm not afraid of any wolves, tigers, or leopards!"
