Now that the shadow of the Nawa war had lifted, even more tourists were arriving, much to the delight of the local officials responsible for tourism.
The two countries in the Lanna region and North Laos region had also seen significant economic growth thanks to the influx of visitors drawn to all three regions. They, too, were reluctant to see this economic community fall apart.
One place was especially pleased to see the Nawa region expand its territory: Northern Vietnam.
After all, they had missed their chance to join the organization when a terrorist attack broke out without warning last time. Now that the Nawa region was stable, there was time to apply for membership, and they wasted no time submitting an application.
The Regional Cooperation Organization then began a new round of reviews for Northern Vietnam.
The review went smoothly, of course. They had already conducted one the previous time.
Even so, completing the entire accession process took another year, adding one more member to the Regional Cooperation Organization.
At almost the same time, two more provinces in China were added to the visa-free program: Guangxi and Guizhou.
With that, the Multilateral Cooperation Organization's visa-free regions became one continuous area. This also gave the organization a new tourism draw, and the rail links made the surrounding tourism industry boom even more.
Of course, the addition of new regions brought new challenges, putting even more pressure on the Multilateral Cooperation Organization's police force.
Fortunately, the automated screening system Wang Yue had invented greatly eased the burden on the police. They only had to respond when suspicious individuals were flagged, instead of keeping watch around the clock.
After all, maintaining public order was the responsibility of local police. The Multilateral Cooperation Organization's police were mainly tasked with counterterrorism and fighting crime,
