The farm was divided into several areas, with the chickens in one. They'd clearly been raised free-range for a month or two, and were only half-grown, each weighing less than a pound.
There were also a dozen or so ducks and geese swimming in the pond in the middle of the ranch. Judging by their size, they'd been raised from chicks, and wouldn't be laying eggs anytime soon.
In one corner of the farm stood a pigpen with five piglets inside. Judging by their size, they couldn't have been more than two months old.
Across from the pigpen was a sheep pen with five lambs inside. They looked to be only a month or two old as well.
At the very back of the farm was a courtyard that looked a lot like a cave dwelling. Through the fence at the entrance, Lin Haifeng could see five puppies inside. They looked to be about two months old, too.
Lin Haifeng glanced back at the chickens, ducks, and geese and realized there were ten of each. It was obvious that every child had their own animals.
Looking at the little ranch, Lin Haifeng couldn't help worrying about the children.
The other animals aside, once those five piglets grew up, how could a few children manage to raise such hungry creatures while running around every day to move supplies?
With that on his mind, Lin Haifeng didn't even enter the ranch. When he got back, he told his wife about what he'd seen, then said helplessly,
"Honey, bringing Cherry to this remote mountain hollow was unfair to her. I'm glad she can use her allowance to buy these little animals. But it's one thing when they're small. What are we going to do when they grow up?"
