Wang Yue exchanged a few more polite words, then took his leave. He knew the police would probably spend a long time discussing the matter, even in a meeting.
What frustrated him was that when he left the Police Station and stopped by the delivery station to check in, he learned that he'd been fired.
It wasn't really the delivery station's fault. During the half-month he'd been away, they'd had to find someone to fill in for him. Now that replacement was still working, and the station couldn't very well replace him again just because Wang Yue had come back.
Wang Yue was pretty frustrated. Maybe he should just go back to making a food delivery app.
But then he remembered that an app would take a lot of money to develop, and would require constant fundraising and hype afterward. It would drain far too much of his energy.
Wang Yue decided he might as well make a game and sell it, so he could become a rich man with nothing to do. Musing over this, he rode his Electric Bicycle home.
He spent the rest of the day busy at home. When it was time for dinner that evening, he finally stepped out of the place he was renting.
As luck would have it, just as Wang Yue came out, he spotted a girl staggering unsteadily. A man in a baseball cap stood beside her, constantly saying something to her.
The girl was stumbling, and when the man in the cap moved closer, she even pushed him twice. But she was clearly out of strength. She tried to push him away, but couldn't.
"Hey! What are you doing? Let her go!"
Wang Yue figured the man was either a predator looking to take advantage of an unconscious woman or
