When Wang Yue and Dudu saw what was happening, they naturally wanted to go inside and take a look. After all, the Mirror Demon could only see inside a room through its mirrors, unless it used magic to see outside.
But they had no idea what was going on in the village, and using demonic arts recklessly seemed unwise.
So Wang Yue and Dudu walked into the village. The sight that greeted them left them stunned.
Headless corpses were everywhere, all tossed in front of the doors of various homes.
They were scattered in every direction, as if someone had thrown them aside at random.
Dudu asked uncertainly, "Could Duan Yanqiu have killed everyone here?
That doesn't seem likely.
If that were the case, Chu Youhuang would have found out long ago."
Wang Yue replied uncertainly, "Dudu, I'm afraid some ghostly creature did this. I can already sense a familiar aura."
The reason it felt familiar to Wang Yue was that when he had first arrived in this world, he'd run into a starving ghost. The scent in this space was much the same.
After Wang Yue reminded her, Dudu thought of that ghost too. Her demonic power surged out as she searched every corner.
"Where's my head?"
Just as they were searching, a distant voice suddenly drifted over.
Wang Yue immediately saw a headless male ghost floating toward them. The voice was coming from its stomach.
Seeing this, Wang Yue said in exasperation, "You can't even find your own head. Why are you asking us?"
The headless ghost was enraged by his words. Black mist suddenly billowed around it as it lunged at Wang Yue.
