Wang Yue and Pei Qian had made their moves almost simultaneously, but Pei Qian had been a little quicker!
Wang Yue was building affordable housing, and the site slated for demolition was a large village on the outskirts. That meant his other steps were indeed moving very slowly.
But Tengda Games had plenty of money, and the land they bought was vacant. Pei Qian had chosen that plot simply because development had recently reached the area, making transportation relatively convenient.
So while Wang Yue was decorating his new home, shopping for a car, and picking out furniture, Tengda Home was already built!
Pei Qian didn't follow Wang Yue's approach. Instead, he first set aside one building as staff housing, then put the remaining buildings up for sale.
Since Pei Qian figured that spending more would mean losing more, he had the staff housing fitted out very luxuriously. He even made sure the community landscaping was completed ahead of schedule.
So by the time Tengda Home opened for sales to the public, Tengda Games' employees had already moved into the building.
When the development officially went on the market, Pei Qian called Wang Yue to gloat. He told him how much he had invested in the project and how luxurious the fittings were, then declared that the venture was sure to lose money!
After hearing him out, Wang Yue replied uncertainly, "President Pei, you've already got one building finished and moved your company's employees into it. That means your community already has some life in it.
"Do you think people might see it as an established community and decide to buy homes there?"
Hearing that, Pei Qian sounded a little unsure. "Manager Wang, don't scare me! My prices are twenty percent higher than Shenhua Group's. Even if people think our community
