Reunited

In my old world, Wang Yue rarely went out for fun. Even when he did, it was usually a company outing, and he could relax and enjoy himself. Even if there were kids along, he'd only play with them now and then. This trip was different. Wang Yue was genuinely exhausted.

In a photo taken inside the Ten Thousand Buddha Grotto at the Longmen Grottoes, Wang Yue had a huge pack on his back, with a large water bottle on either side. Little Princess Yuan Yuan sat on her father's shoulders, pointing at the cave for her mother, her little legs kicking excitedly.

A lot of the photos from the trip looked like that. Luckily, Wang Yue had kept up with his exercise in this world; otherwise, he might not have made it through the trip.

As they traveled from west to east, Wang Yue had been worried while visiting Shaolin Temple that some kindly-looking monk might tell him, "Benefactor, judging by your face, it seems an expert has defied heaven and changed your fate! Why not join the Buddhist order and settle your karma?"

Thankfully, nothing of the sort happened. After Ruan Wan finished paying her respects, she offered a generous donation. Wang Yue asked what she'd prayed for, but Ruan Wan only smiled and wouldn't tell him.

Their little darling Yuan Yuan happily said she'd made a wish too. Wang Yue asked what she'd wished for, and the little girl said, "I asked the Buddha to give me a kindergarten. Anyone who cries again won't be allowed in."

The family of three traveled all the way to Li Weijuan's hometown. Their trip finally came to an end after Li Weijuan showed them around, and Zhang Yang and Liu Lei joined them.

After washing up at the hotel, Wang Yue felt sure he'd lost a few pounds on the trip. But when he went down to the hotel gym and stepped on the scale, he found he'd actually gained weight! How strange.

Only after Zhang Yang explained did Wang Yue learn there was another reason Li Weijuan had returned to Nanhe.

Lost in love, Li Weijuan refused to believe it. Because of this, she and Zheng Wei had a falling-out.

When Xu Kaiyang heard about the situation, he felt he'd acted rashly. Still, he didn't want Li Weijuan to get her heart broken, so he and Zheng Wei took her to a bar He Yi frequented.

Li Weijuan saw He Yi partying there with her own eyes. She realized she'd wronged Zheng Wei, but was too embarrassed to admit it, so she decided to go back to her hometown.

"I understand why Sister Li went home, but what about you two?" Wang Yue asked, puzzled, as he looked at Zhang Yang and Liu Lei.

"Second Brother has a crush on Juanzi. I don't!" the chubby Liu Lei hurriedly protested, waving his hands.

"Then why are you going?" Wang Yue asked, confused.

"I... I had a high school classmate who works around here. We ran into each other at a matchmaking date over the New Year last year," Fourth Brother Liu Lei said sheepishly. But the pleased look in her eyes gave her away.

"Fourth Brother, you kept this from me? Let us meet her!" Zhang Yang was furious when he heard. This guy had actually kept it from him. What happened to brotherly love?

"That's not fair. You're always moping over Sister Li. How could I bring it up? If you don't believe me, ask Third Brother. He knows too!" Liu Lei immediately protested. She cared deeply about her brothers. They'd been brothers for life, after all.

"Fine, I was wrong." Zhang Yang realized he'd accused Fourth Brother unfairly and felt rather embarrassed. He'd been so caught up in his own misery that he hadn't paid attention to what was going on with his friends.

"Tomorrow, we're going to look for an office for the company. Bring your sister-in-law along," Wang Yue said, happy for the chubby guy. He'd thought Liu Lei would be the last of them to find someone, but it had happened sooner than expected.

"Sure. But my girlfriend suggested we look around Longzi Lake. They're building a new university town there, and the government is developing the area. It'd be a good place for our company." Fatty Liu Lei made the suggestion to Wang Yue. It looked like he'd really done his homework.

"Right, boss. That area's nice. There are universities all around, and the surroundings are great. It's just a bit out of the way, but the transport is really convenient," Zhang Yang added.

"Let's ask Sister Li later. If she has no objections, we'll go with that," Wang Yue said, agreeing with them. After all, Juanzi would be managing the branch office there, so her opinion mattered.

"Sure!" Zhang Yang readily agreed.

"Sure," Liu Lei said indifferently. Her mind was already on her girlfriend.

When Ruan Wan and Li Weijuan came out after talking privately, they heard the three men chatting about what their college classmates were up to.

Zhang Yang and Liu Lei did most of the talking, while Wang Yue listened. When Ruan Wan came out, she joined in with great interest. After Li Weijuan joined them, she mentioned a few female classmates and where they'd ended up, though most had married.

During the conversation, Li Weijuan learned about the location Liu Lei had suggested. After thinking it over, she decided it was close to the main road home, making it easy to visit. So they settled on the location and agreed to go there the next day.

"Houses there aren't cheap. How much can you afford to buy?" Li Weijuan asked, worried about the practicalities when she heard Wang Yue wanted to buy a place for them to run the company.

"I stopped worrying about money three years ago," Wang Yue said, his tone utterly calm. He even had a hint of Xiao Nai's aura about him.

His two dorm mates and Li Weijuan all looked at him as if to say, "Keep showing off now. You'll be embarrassed tomorrow." Only Ruan Wan covered her mouth and laughed.

Seeing her expression, Li Weijuan knew something had happened that the rest of them didn't know about.

"Ruan Ruan, tell me. What's Old Wang done to make a fortune this time?" Li Weijuan grabbed Ruan Wan, looking as if she'd tickle her if she didn't tell.

"Okay, okay!" Ruan Wan quickly surrendered. She'd noticed Yuan Yuan watching them play and rushing over to join in, so she didn't dare keep it up.

Wang Yue went over and picked up his daughter, giving her a kiss. The little girl giggled in her father's arms.

Only after seeing her daughter safely in her father's arms did Ruan Wan feel comfortable explaining. "Did you forget? Back when we were still running the studio, Wang Yue was always programming. That's what he was busy with. Three years ago, he sold the software to Big Penguin and ICBC."

"W-was it Weixin?" Liu Lei pulled out her phone and pointed at the Weixin app on the screen.

"Yeah, that's the one," Wang Yue said with a nod.

"Good heavens!" Zhang Yang exclaimed.

"Holy crap!" Liu Lei cried.

"..." Li Weijuan covered her mouth.

"Boss, then let's buy a whole building!" Zhang Yang suddenly said, his excitement rising.

"We already have one, but it's in the suburbs of Magic City. That'll be the headquarters of Weimei Design someday. It was collateral at a bank, so I got it cheap. When Weimei grows big enough, we'll move there." Wang Yue remained calm.

Actually, right after selling his shares in the software, he'd been so excited that he couldn't sleep for a week. His professor had even thought something had happened at home.

But later, he remembered that in the real world, he was still broke, and his excitement immediately faded.
