Chapter 7: First Hack Experience

That day, Handsome Senior Brother came to work and immediately noticed his computer screen had been replaced. His first thought was Wang Yue, who had recently gone crazy learning hacking techniques.

But Hao Mei walked around and couldn't find Wang Yue anywhere, so he stormed into Xiao Nai's office and slammed the table hard in front of him. "Xiao Nai, Wang Yue does nothing all day but cause trouble, and you won't do anything about it?"

"Alright, what's the matter?" Xiao Nai sighed, saved his document, and looked up, signaling Hao Mei to speak slowly.

"I came in this morning, and the beauty picture on my computer screen had been swapped for a monk temple!" Hao Mei got worked up just mentioning it. "Who does Wang Yue think he's looking down on? Just because he managed to hook up with a girl from Third Sister-in-law's dorm? I was a Provincial Top Scholar, back in the day, cute girls chasing after me could line up for two miles!"

"Two, sure, but the unit's unclear!" Xiao Nai could hear the thick frustration in Hao Mei's tone. Time to lighten this guy's load a bit. "Are you so sure it's Wang Yue?"

"If not him, then who?" Hao Mei bristled at that. His baby face looked at Xiao Nai with grievance, giving Xiao Nai the creeps. The company had too many men lately; everyone was acting weird.

"Wang Yue's been messing with people's computers recently, but he usually sticks to those three poor souls in his dorm!" Xiao Nai actually admired Wang Yue a bit. In just a few days, he'd gotten pretty slick at hacking, though his exit cleanup was rough. But who didn't start out that way?

"You've got a point, but if it's not him, then who?" Hao Mei muttered, unconsciously glancing at Xiao Nai.

Xiao Nai couldn't take this guy anymore. He closed his laptop and headed to Hao Mei's workstation.

"It's not Wang Yue!" Xiao Nai typed furiously, and in under five minutes, he had his answer. After another dizzying flurry of keystrokes, he stood up and said to Hao Mei, "I left something on your computer. If that person comes back, I'll know immediately over on my end."

When Wang Yue and his dorm brothers arrived at the company, they heard about it right away. Huang Tao and the other two didn't react much; they listened and went back to their own business. After all, getting their computers hacked was routine for them. But knowing someone else got hit today made them feel a lot better.

Wang Yue immediately understood the situation and sidled up to Hao Mei. "Brother Mei, what heartless thing did you do? They've come knocking, telling you to stay pure!"

"Scram, scram, you're everywhere. Can't you see I'm annoyed?" Hao Mei was irritated and had no patience for his antics, waving Wang Yue off.

"Calm down, Brother Mei, calm down. Think about it—whoever did this must have some history with you. Remember, back in high school, did you ever wrong anyone?" Wang Yue's voice wasn't quiet, and the others overheard and came over to join in.

"Yeah, Brother Hao Mei, tell us about your love life!" said Extra 1.

"Brother Mei!..."

In no time, it was chaos, and Hao Mei couldn't take it. "Back then, I didn't pay attention to anything Outside the Window; I only focused on my studies! How else do you think I became the Provincial Top Scholar?"

"Brother Mei, that's different. What if it's someone who loved you but couldn't have you?" Wang Yue wasn't about to let Hao Mei off that easily.

Hao Mei, spurred by his words, couldn't help but start recalling every high school classmate's possibility.

While Hao Mei was lost in beautiful fantasies, Xiao Nai suddenly walked over with his laptop, his expression serious. "He's here! Wang Yue, want to give it a try?"

Hao Mei quickly moved aside. Wang Yue sat in front of the computer, fingers flying, when suddenly the screen went black. He turned to Xiao Nai. "Senior Brother Xiao, I can't beat him!"

"I figured. I've already found him!" Xiao Nai looked completely calm. Everyone crowded around to watch. Xiao Nai lightly pressed Enter, and the other side's webcam suddenly turned on.

The environment on the other end was noisy. A slightly lean figure appeared in front of the camera. It seemed they hadn't expected to be discovered. But after a moment's thought, they calmly turned on voice chat. "I mean no harm!"

"I know!" Xiao Nai was as composed as ever, as if everything was under control.

But Wang Yue was a bit frustrated. He thought Xiao Nai was giving him practice, but instead, he'd been used as bait while Xiao Nai played the big shot.

That fox, so sneaky!

"It's you? Why'd you change my computer picture?" Hao Mei, seeing it was the Little Brother he knew who cooked so well, felt half his anger drain away.

"She's not good enough for you." KO said calmly.

Xiao Nai looked at the person on screen, then glanced at Hao Mei, and suddenly understood. "Come work at our company. It'll lighten Hao Mei's load too."

"Okay!" KO didn't hesitate for a second.

"Then it's settled. Hao Mei, you're in charge of this Little Brother. He'll work with you once he joins." Xiao Nai smoothly handed the arrangement over to Hao Mei.

"No problem!" Hao Mei's baby face split into a grin.

With Hao Mei handling it, KO joined the company the next day. Wang Yue gained another master, and his pestering of Xiao Nai dropped off significantly. With some free time, Xiao Nai soon found himself thinking about his Wife, who had gone back to her Maternal Home.

Weiwei had been doing tutoring at home. When she got paid, she immediately bought a phone to bother Xiao Nai. But then she received a message from him: "Weiwei, the Flowers blooming on the path. You Can slowly return."

As soon as Xiao Nai's message arrived, Weiwei couldn't sit still. She'd only lasted less than seven days. She hurriedly ended her tutoring session and bought a plane ticket straight back to the capital. This time, with Boss and the others tipping her off, Weiwei went to Xiaoling's place first to settle in. The next day, she brought a homemade lunch and charged straight to the company for a surprise inspection.

When Weiwei arrived, Xiao Nai had turned into Teacher Xiao, guiding Wang Yue and KO through an attack-and-defense battle. A bunch of coworkers who hadn't gone to lunch were gathered around watching.

Yu Banshan was shouting, "I bet ten minutes, KO takes down Wang Yue!"

"I'll bet fifteen minutes," Qiu Yonghou chimed in.

In the middle of all the excitement, no one noticed Weiwei's arrival. Curious, she slowly edged over to Xiao Nai's side. But the moment she got close, Xiao Nai seemed to sense something and turned his head. Their eyes locked, as if no one else existed. Then Xiao Nai grabbed Weiwei's hand, and the two slipped away, leaving the crowd still buzzing.

After Xiao Nai left, Wang Yue lasted only a few more minutes before yelling, "Brother Xiao, Brother Xiao, you can't just leave me to die!"

But after a few shouts, he got no response. Turning around, he realized Xiao Nai had already slipped away without anyone noticing.

A few minutes later, the battle ended.

Wang Yue shook his head helplessly, stood up, and gestured to Huang Tao and the others. Then he called out to Yu Banshan, "KO, Brother Mei, let's go eat."

Yu Banshan noticed Xiao Nai was gone and asked around, but no one knew where he'd gone. A bunch of grown men had been so focused that not a single one had seen Xiao Nai leave.
