Before he knew it, he had grown up. What had begun as raising a little boy with Tesla had turned into an ordinary older-woman-younger-man relationship.
This was good enough.
Walter coughed and brought the conversation back on track.
"What exactly are you here for?"
"Cocolia was overcome with anxiety and wanted to inspect her son-in-law, so she grandly drove Titan mechs to St. Freya. To let Lady Theresa know that there were still different voices within Anti-Entropy, I had to come too... Ah, now that I thought about it, this really was troublesome."
"You've had it rough."
Walter said sincerely, staring intently into Einstein's eyes.
"Ein..."
"No need to thank me. Just come back early."
Einstein yawned and said nothing more. Her body entered a quantum state once again, vanishing before Walter's eyes.
The night was cool and bleak.
Only the fickle wind blew softly.
Theresa jolted awake.
She found that her window had been left open. Howling wind poured inside, while tremendous commotion raged outside. She could even see enormous robots roaming through the campus.
Was it a carnival?
She rubbed her sleepy eyes and stepped barefoot onto the floor, her round toes lightly curling against the boards.
Even if flames were soaring outside and twelve massive cannons were exploding beside her ears, the commotion they caused would not have been enough to wake Theresa.
What had truly awakened Theresa was something else.
She felt a deep chill slowly creeping up from behind her.
Every hair on her body stood on end.
She saw a blue-haired girl standing behind her, waving slightly at her.
"Principal Theresa."
Einstein said, about to continue being friendly when she suddenly saw every hair on Theresa's body stand on end.
There's a ghost!
Theresa roared inwardly.
