"Vampire Hunter?"
Yue Xia was slung over Zhao Bai's shoulder in a most ungentlemanly manner. Her skirt fluttered up and down as he ran, exposing her underwear, and a trace of panic inexplicably flashed through her heart.
"Is she talking about me? Why is she trying to kill me? Did I do something wrong?"
That thought was far too naive. Zhao Bai reached out and patted Yue Xia's little head, comforting her between breaths. "You didn't do anything wrong. You're just different from everyone else. Get rid of those spineless thoughts as soon as possible."
"Waa—"
If she had been carried bridal-style, Yue Xia would have taken the chance to burrow into his arms. But she was being carried over his shoulder now, leaving her no such opportunity.
Durandal gripped her scythe and chased after them from behind.
"Kitty!"
"Don't say it out loud. You're a cool vampire hunter, not a hopeless cat slave."
After calming herself down, Durandal looked ahead coolly and discovered that Zhao Bai was running toward his motorcycle. She raised her scythe, intending to slice it in half and cut off his escape route, but Otto stopped her once again.
"Zhao Bai put a gemstone into the engine. Try not to attack it."
Her swinging motion came to a timely halt.
Durandal could only watch as he mounted the motorcycle and sped away with Moonlit Embrace. Setting aside the fact that he was calmly riding something powered by a nuclear bomb, she needed a flying vehicle. Running alone would never catch up to him.
"I'm getting serious now."
Otto said, "Zhao Bai has fled toward the sea. He's probably planning to deal with you somewhere with fewer people around. How do you feel about that?"
"I don't feel anything."
Durandal answered honestly.
Her armament was released.
