"You're... going to erase this brain's memories?"
Gray Serpent placed a helmet resembling a perming cap over her head. Its other end was connected to a computer by cable. Creating an independent personality was simple—as long as the memories remained unchanged. In twenty minutes, Gray Serpent would go dormant, replaced by Cup Snake, a genius young writer specializing in mysticism.
"Is there a problem?"
Gray Serpent raised her head and asked coldly.
"No. It's just that you're very different from how you usually are. I even feel like the one talking to me isn't you."
Gray Serpent stopped what she was doing and asked in confusion, "Do you mean my appearance, or my code of conduct? I do feel that something is off. Although I wanted to stop, some specific emotion kept preventing me from doing so. After becoming human, I found myself craving this feeling."
"If there's something you crave, of course you should pursue it. There's nothing wrong with that."
Even Jackal supported her. Gray Serpent sensed that something was off, but her hand seemed to have a mind of its own. She put on the helmet and pressed the switch. Her consciousness gradually drifted away, and her light eyelids grew heavy.
Closing and opening her eyes felt like a cycle of reincarnation.
Jackal watched Gray Serpent close her eyes and silently nodded. Setting everything else aside, this little girl's appearance was quite cute.
That resolute, calm madness was indeed one of Gray Serpent's usual methods.
As for what would happen in the end, she was looking forward to it.
P.S. My favorite split-personality arc is about to begin. Will it crash and burn? Will it?
I was chatting happily in the authors' group today when someone suddenly said they'd received an offer from miHoYo's campus recruitment.
