P.S.: I was out of books to read, so I checked out the three next door and trembled in fear.
A New Mission (3/4)
The mission came just like that.
Otto's mouth was a lying ghost.
That was the correct conclusion Zhao Bai had reached through practice. As he enjoyed the comfort of domineering CEO Bronya, a long-term mission appeared on his communicator. Not only had he received it; his teammates had as well, including Cup Snake, who had just connected her communicator to St. Freya's network. At the time, she was arranging her folk artifacts: a bizarre Stone Mask, a miniature Easter Island statue, an Indian feather blanket...
It fit Cup Snake's persona as a mystery and horror novelist perfectly.
She was lighting an eerie blue candle flame with a match, carrying a pungent metallic scent. Those harmful substances were sealed inside a quartz cover. She took a breath of smoke she could not touch, preparing to summarize her day.
She took out her phone. The glowing screen and blue candle cast mottled shadows across Cup Snake's delicate face.
Shallow beastfolk were perfectly normal; beastfolk were supposed to be shallow. When genes fused, a human commander would inevitably be affected by beast genes. I have completely moved on from my disappointment. Overall, today's observations did not disappoint me. It was just that Boss Zhao was too modest, and he seemed a little timid too, completely different from that night...

Hearing that sound, Cup Snake frowned deeply. She had yet to emerge from the shadow of being thirteen years old, but her frown soon relaxed. It was a team mission assigned by headquarters, led by the A-rank Zhao Bai, with the remaining four as assistants.
The morning breeze rose, and the mist dispersed.
