Kurenai Yuhi flipped through the air and landed atop the cliff at Kage Rock. Then she and Asuma Sarutobi headed toward the new district. The huge semicircular expanse of Konoha beneath Kage Rock had been completely developed, so the wide-open area atop the cliff naturally hadn't been left to waste either. The official Chunin Ninja Exams selection venue was in the new district, serving as a way to attract tourists and immigrants.
Asuma Sarutobi had a cigarette between his lips as he said casually, "They say it's a highly confidential place, and that some very important people have been assigned to guard it. We'll find out what it's like when we get there!"
Since the squads they each oversaw happened to have the day off, the two Jonin lovers had arranged to meet. They also wanted to see the mysterious task Lady Tsunade had solemnly assigned them a couple of days earlier, asking them to commit to the Chakra Mark: using the Bagua Furnace to make pills. It was a long-term assignment for the Chunin and Jonin on her list.
They could only claim Chakra Pills as a stipend if they clocked in regularly to make them.
After strolling and chatting for a while, they had an early dinner. Following the address Tsunade had given them, they discovered that the place was a small restaurant on the edge of the new district.
"So they really did set it up like this?" someone said from above.
As Jonin, Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yuhi had noticed the people on the roof long ago. One had messy black hair, a cool expression, and a handsome face; the other wore a hooded cloak and an animal mask.
Anbu? Asuma Sarutobi wondered, cigarette between his lips.
"Sasuke Uchiha? He's also—"
