Deep in the woods, Kakashi Hatake and the others stopped to rest. They formed a circle, set down their packs, took out some water and rations, and had a few bites and sips before turning to Wu Yu, who clearly had something to say.
"Ever since we first arrived at Tazuna's house, you've been acting a little strange." Kakashi Hatake's right eye turned toward Wu Yu. "You even asked me a really odd question..."
Sakura Haruno nodded repeatedly, then imitated Wu Yu's tone, a bead of cold sweat hanging from her face. "'Kakashi, what would you do if I stole something from you?' Ugh..." She rubbed her arms vigorously.
Wu Yu smiled. "Kakashi even quoted my words back at me!" He sighed. "'My name is Nakamori Wu Yu. I'm fourteen. I like strong, confident beauties, and I hate people with dark hearts'—I really did say something like that, didn't I?"
"What are you guys even talking about?" Naruto Uzumaki asked, a piece of bread in his mouth as he looked from one side to the other, utterly bewildered.
Wu Yu smiled and held out his hand. "Kakashi, give me your blood."
Kakashi Hatake's right eye stared at Wu Yu for a moment. Then he briskly pulled a kunai from his pouch, nicked his finger with it, and flicked his hand. A string of blood droplets flew toward Wu Yu.
Wu Yu swiftly caught the droplets, from the first to the last.
Then he formed hand seals.
