Ch. 202A Small Lantern Fish

Seven tried to gain Garp’s support while preparing for a future conflict with Imu and the World Government. After Garp caught a small Lantern Fish, Seven secretly tagged it and tracked it in hopes of finding the giant Lantern Fish that could lead him to Pure Gold, but the fish stayed too deep for him to follow.

  • Seven told Garp that Imu had targeted him and asked Garp to kill him if Imu used Black Turn Domination to control him.
  • Seven reviewed the World Government’s powerful fighters and concluded that the Morning Star Crew still needed to grow stronger before rebelling.
  • Garp caught a small Lantern Fish, and Seven secretly put a tracking badge and a Senzu Bean inside it before releasing it.
  • Seven tracked the small Lantern Fish for three days but could not follow it into the deep sea because he was a Devil Fruit User.
  • Seven returned to the East Blue Emperor and told the crew to wake him when they reached Mary Geoise.

Ch. 203Thank You, I Like It

Seven arrived at Mary Geoise as a newly appointed Celestial Dragon, where the Gorosei and other dignitaries gave him an unprecedented welcome. After settling in, he learned that Imu wanted to see him.

  • Garp completed his escort mission and left Seven at the New World port, troubled by his becoming a Celestial Dragon.
  • Seven and his companions rode the bubble elevator to Mary Geoise, where the Gorosei, Divine Knights, kings, and Navy officers welcomed him.
  • Aokiji warned Navy soldiers not to provoke Seven, while Kizaru reflected on how drastically Seven’s status had changed.
  • King Cobra considered befriending Seven and buying Sea Prism Stone from Inazuma during the Reverie.
  • Seven asked why the Gorosei had not prepared enough sofas, and Saint Saturn told him that Imu wished to see him.

Ch. 204I Want to See Your Face

Seven met Imu in the Flower Room to discuss signing a contract, but Imu refused to show her face and could not offer him a higher-level contract. Seven left with a Shallow Sea Contract and permission to choose Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits, while Imu marveled at his strength as a potential vessel.

  • Saint Saturn escorted Seven to the Flower Room, where Imu dismissed the Gorosei and spoke to Seven in a woman's voice.
  • Imu offered Seven a choice of contracts, and Seven asked to see Imu's face, claiming he wanted to fulfill Roger's dying wish.
  • Imu refused to reveal her face but agreed to give Seven several Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits.
  • Imu declined to give Seven an Abyss or Deep Sea Contract, explaining that all thirteen higher-level contract positions were occupied, and offered him a Shallow Sea Contract with God's Knight authority instead.
  • Seven accepted the Shallow Sea Contract, and Imu marked his right arm with a contract tattoo.
  • Imu sent Seven to choose Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits and, after he left, marveled at the power of Seven's vessel and soul.

Ch. 205Was He After Me?

After Saint Seven signed a Shallow Sea Contract with Imu, the Gorosei feared that he might replace one of them, and Saint Saturn became convinced he was the likeliest target. Saint Saturn tried to secure his position by offering Saint Seven a lavish gift, while Saint Seven planned to seal Imu’s demonic power inside a fingernail.

  • Saint Saturn and the other Gorosei worried that Imu might make Saint Seven a Gorosei, and they concluded Saint Saturn was most at risk of being eliminated.
  • Saint Saturn remembered his past misdeeds and decided to keep Saint Seven from signing an Abyss Contract with Imu by distracting him with a valuable gift.
  • Saint Seven examined the demonic power from his Shallow Sea Contract and planned to seal it away after leaving Mary Geoise so Imu could not possess him.
  • Gunko escorted Saint Seven back to the palace, where Saint Saturn greeted him warmly and offered to let him choose a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit.
  • Saint Saturn asked when Saint Seven would turn twenty, then lowered his voice and said he would give him his birthday present early.

Ch. 206Mythical Zoan: Dog-Dog Fruit

Seven received the Mythical Zoan: Hell Hound Fruit and four other Devil Fruits from Saint Saturn, then moved into the mansion Imu had prepared for him. Three days later, news that Seven had become a Celestial Dragon reached Kaido and Doflamingo in Dressrosa, enraging Doflamingo.

  • Saint Saturn secretly asked Seven to help him keep his Abyss Contract, and Seven agreed while accepting the Mythical Zoan: Hell Hound Fruit intended for Shamlok.
  • Saint Saturn opened the Holy Land's treasure vault, where Seven saw a giant straw hat and selected five Devil Fruits, including Hell Hound Form, Frost Dragon Form, and Gold-Gold Fruit.
  • Saint Saturn led Seven to the mansion Imu had prepared beside Saint Elaine's residence.
  • At the Reverie, news spread that Barzeb Seven had become a Celestial Dragon, while Inazuma joined the Affiliated Nations and opened its borders.
  • Queen told Kaido and Doflamingo that Seven had become a Celestial Dragon, and Doflamingo's warm feelings toward Kaido turned to fury.

Ch. 207Doomed to Live in Little White Hair's Shadow

Kaido planned a campaign to become a Sea Emperor while arranging for Flower Card to become a Shichibukai. On the Moby Dick, Teach grew frustrated at living in Beelzebul's shadow and told Whitebeard he wanted to set sail.

  • Doflamingo erupted in anger after learning Beelzebul had become a Celestial Dragon, and Kaido mocked him for failing to secure Dressrosa.
  • Vergo persuaded Kaido that Beelzebul's new status meant the Morning Star Crew had gone legitimate and proposed a media campaign to make Kaido a Sea Emperor.
  • Kaido ordered Vergo to arrange the campaign and agreed that Flower Card could become a Shichibukai while Kaido looked after Ulti and Page One.
  • Whitebeard and his sons joked about Beelzebul becoming a Celestial Dragon while Whitey Bay's pregnancy kept the crew on edge.
  • Teach compared his stalled life with Beelzebul's achievements, decided he had to set sail, and told Whitebeard he wanted to leave.

Ch. 208Blackbeard Set Sail

Teach left the Whitebeard Pirates to pursue the Dark-Dark Fruit and build a crew of his own, while Whitebeard sent him off with a banquet and supplies. As Teach sailed for the West Blue to find companions, Shanks read that Seven had become a Celestial Dragon and wondered why.

  • Teach begged Whitebeard to let him leave, saying he did not want to fall behind Seven and explaining that he planned to seek the Dark-Dark Fruit.
  • Whitebeard accepted Teach's decision and held a farewell banquet aboard the Moby Dick.
  • Thatch gave Teach a prepared ship, provisions, and two hundred million Beli contributed by the brothers.
  • Teach sailed away and planned to recruit companions across the Four Seas before forming the Blackbeard Pirates.
  • Shanks read the newspaper report that Seven had become a Celestial Dragon and told Beckman he could not understand it.

Ch. 209Infiltrating Enemy Ranks

Shanks worried that Seven had become a Celestial Dragon, but Beckman concluded that Seven was infiltrating the enemy ranks and stopped Shanks from trying to do the same. At the Levely, Seven arranged Sea Prism Stone deals with King Cobra and other rulers while planning his next moves.

  • Shanks vented to Beckman about Seven's transformation, and Beckman suggested that Seven had become a Celestial Dragon to infiltrate the enemy ranks.
  • Shanks proposed going undercover himself, but Beckman reminded him that the Red-Haired Pirates needed him to recruit and lead their small crew.
  • Beckman recommended recruiting younger apprentices and told Shanks about Lafitte, a twenty-one-year-old special sheriff who advocated violence.
  • At the Levely, Seven arranged for Fujitora to handle Alabasta's Sea Prism Stone trade and accepted King Cobra's invitation to visit.
  • Other kings asked Seven to sell them Sea Prism Stone products, and Seven welcomed their business.

Ch. 210Heading to the Marine Temporary Headquarters

The Marines prepared for Barzeb Seven’s arrival at Marine Temporary Headquarters, despite resenting her and fearing she would demand the Morning Star Crew’s Bounties be canceled. After the Reverie, Seven traveled there with Kizaru and asked him to prepare a list of officers recruited through the World Conscription.

  • Sengoku and the Marine high command discussed their orders to welcome Saint Seven and concluded they had no choice but to comply.
  • Tsuru suspected Seven planned to have the Morning Star Crew’s Bounties canceled, while Enel gave Zephyr asthma medication and reflected on Lord Thunder God’s power.
  • Sengoku ordered the Marines at Headquarters to cooperate with the CP agents and prepare for Seven’s arrival.
  • After the Reverie ended, Seven boarded the East Blue Emperor with Kizaru and considered the strength and resources of the World Government’s affiliated nations.
  • Kizaru asked Seven not to provoke the Marines, and Seven agreed while requesting a list of officers recruited through the World Conscription.

Ch. 211Welcome, Saint Seven

Seven arrived at Marine Headquarters as a newly accepted World Government noble and ordered the Morning Star Crew's Bounties revoked. He left Golden Lion's Bounty in place and demanded that the Marines honor their old agreement not to target the former Roger Pirates.

  • Sengoku welcomed Seven to Marine Headquarters while Tsuru reminded him not to reveal Rosinante's identity as a spy.
  • Garp kept the Marines at the port under control, then took Zephyr to the cafeteria and tried to dissuade him from starting the Neo Marines.
  • Seven met with Sengoku and the Marine high command, and declared that the Morning Star Crew's Bounties should be revoked now that Inazuma had joined the World Government.
  • Seven instructed Spandine to revoke the Bounties but refused to include Golden Lion, who had rejected becoming a noble of an Affiliated Nation.
  • Seven urged Sengoku to ensure the Marines and World Government kept their promise not to target the former Roger Pirates.

Ch. 212The Navy's Brilliant Rising Stars

Seven reviewed the Navy's new recruits and planned to recruit Smoker and seek Pure Gold, while Fisher Tiger prepared the Sun Pirates for Beelzebul's arrival at Fish-Man Island. The chapter ended with Arlong questioning whether Beelzebul had really shattered Marineford with one blow.

  • Sengoku wondered why Beelzebul had canceled the bounties without taunting the Navy, while Kizaru quietly gave Seven the World Conscription officer list.
  • Seven examined the Navy recruits, noted Aramaki, Smoker, and Hina, and considered arranging for Smoker to eat the Smoke-Smoke Fruit.
  • Seven planned to find Pure Gold and persuade Rayleigh and Shakky to join him, then gave Shiryu and the crew a day off while their ship was coated.
  • Seven decided Jinbe was still his best recruitment prospect as Jinbe stayed with Fisher Tiger on Fish-Man Island.
  • Fisher Tiger warned Arlong and the others to keep a low profile because Beelzebul was coming, and Arlong questioned the story that Beelzebul had shattered Marineford with one blow.

Ch. 213The Undersea Paradise of Fish-Man Island

Arlong dismissed reports of Beelzebul’s power, so Fisher Tiger had him locked up while the Tiger brothers went to keep order on Fish-Man Island during her visit. Meanwhile, Seven’s crew began the descent to Fish-Man Island, and Seven discovered that his Lunarian Bloodline let him breathe underwater even though the sea left him unable to move.

  • Arlong refused to believe that a human could have destroyed Marineford, so Fisher Tiger ordered Jinbe to restrain him and locked him in a Sea Prism Stone cage.
  • Fisher Tiger told Hachi to watch Arlong, then split up with Jinbe to help the royal guards keep order in Fish-Man District and Mermaid Street until Beelzebul left.
  • At the Sabaody Archipelago shipyard, Seven prepared the coated East Blue Emperor for its first descent, put Barrett at the helm, and set out with his crew.
  • Seven deliberately broke through the coating to test his Lunarian Bloodline, and Barrett saw him remain alive in the seawater while unable to move normally.
  • Seven confirmed that he could breathe underwater and searched the Trading Platform for equipment that would let him move freely in the deep sea.

Ch. 214Nothing Special

Seven arrived at Fish-Man Island, where Arlong insulted him and was captured; Seven ordered Arlong taken to Inazuma as a eunuch. Fisher Tiger learned of Arlong’s capture and called for Jinbe and Aladdin.

  • Seven bought a Nano Vibranium Suit, which let him move freely underwater, and the East Blue Emperor reached Fish-Man Island.
  • Neptune and Otohime welcomed Seven and escorted him toward the Royal Palace as Fish-Men knelt along the road.
  • After Arlong said Seven was nothing special, Seven ordered Shiryu to seize Arlong and Octopus Hatchan.
  • Seven released Hatchan and told Neptune that Arlong would be sent to Inazuma as a eunuch; Neptune accepted the punishment.
  • Hatchan went to Fisher Tiger and reported Arlong’s capture, prompting Tiger to summon Jinbe and Aladdin.

Ch. 215Saving My Little Bro in Progress

After Arlong was captured for offending the Celestial Dragons, Fisher Tiger and Jinbe sought ways to save him without endangering Fish-Man Island. Saint Seven refused Whitebeard’s request to mediate unless Jinbe joined the Morning Star Crew, and Jinbe hurried to the Ryugu Palace to accept.

  • Hachi told Fisher Tiger and the others that Shiryu had captured Arlong, while Saint Seven had released Hachi because he had once saved Rayleigh.
  • Fisher Tiger rejected the idea of abandoning Arlong and agreed to ask Sambel for help, while Jinbe suggested Whitebeard as another possible mediator.
  • Fisher Tiger went to the Ryugu Palace to find Sambel, and Jinbe secretly called Marco to ask Whitebeard to intervene.
  • Marco told Jinbe that Saint Seven had refused Whitebeard’s request unless Jinbe joined the Morning Star Crew and reached the Ryugu Palace within half an hour to call him Captain.
  • Jinbe agreed to join and ran toward the Ryugu Palace, while Whitey Bay explained to Marco that helping Saint Seven would strengthen ties between their crews.

Ch. 216I Want It All

At Ryugu Palace, Seven welcomed Jinbe and Tiger into the Morning Star Pirates after they offered to join in exchange for Arlong’s life. With Arlong spared and both Fish-Men recruited, Seven prepared to leave Fish-Man Island to search for the giant Lantern Fish.

  • King Neptune apologized to Seven, and Sambel toasted him for saving Buggy as the banquet began.
  • Tiger pleaded with Seven to spare Arlong and offered to join the Morning Star Crew in exchange.
  • Jinbe rushed into the banquet hall and also offered to join the crew to save Arlong.
  • Seven accepted both Tiger and Jinbe into the Morning Star Pirates and told them to retrieve Arlong from Shiryu.
  • Seven planned to leave Fish-Man Island and track down the giant Lantern Fish.

Ch. 217You Should Enlist in the Navy

Fisher Tiger and Jinbe beat Arlong for endangering himself and Fish-Man Island, then decided he needed to be sent away to keep him from causing more trouble. After Shiryu offered to arrange a post in Impel Down, Arlong agreed to try enlisting in the Navy instead.

  • Shiryu told Fisher Tiger and Jinbe that Arlong was asleep in the next room, and they rushed in and beat him awake.
  • Fisher Tiger explained that he and Jinbe had given up their freedom to save Arlong, then warned him that his reckless words could have gotten him killed.
  • Arlong assumed he would take charge of Fish-Man District after Fisher Tiger and Jinbe left, prompting Fisher Tiger to decide he should enlist in the Navy.
  • Arlong refused to join the Navy until Shiryu offered to send him to Impel Down as a guard and warned that deserters would be punished harshly.
  • Arlong agreed to try enlisting in the Navy, and Fisher Tiger approved the plan.

Ch. 218Fish-Man Karate

Seven accepted Neptune’s request for short-term protection of Fish-Man Island, then learned Fish-Man Karate from Sambel and quickly mastered its techniques. After leaving the island with Jinbe and Fisher Tiger, Seven set course for Amazon Lily Island to visit Rayleigh and Shakky.

  • Neptune asked Seven to protect Fish-Man Island, and Seven agreed to help in the short term.
  • Seven asked Sambel to teach him Fish-Man Karate, and he mastered the techniques after a single lesson.
  • Seven invited Sambel to return to sea, but Sambel chose to remain on Fish-Man Island.
  • Seven said goodbye to Sambel and Neptune, left Fish-Man Island with Jinbe and Fisher Tiger, and gave Sambel several hundred million as pocket money.
  • Jinbe asked whether they would sail for the New World, and Seven instead chose to stop at Amazon Lily Island to see Rayleigh and Shakky.

Ch. 219East Blue Emperor

Seven trained the crew and explained to Jinbe why the Morning Star Crew avoided pillaging civilians while still attacking pirates and the World Government. As the East Blue Emperor continued toward the Calm Belt, the crew encountered Blackbeard, who managed to avoid joining them and decided to keep his distance from Seven.

  • Seven ordered Rosinante, Lucky Roo, and Fisher Tiger to double their training after they envied the crew's Conqueror's Haki.
  • Seven told Jinbe that strong pirates should fight stronger enemies instead of taking their anger out on civilians, and Jinbe resolved to become a High-Class Pirate.
  • The East Blue Emperor sailed toward the Calm Belt and spotted Blackbeard's ship.
  • Blackbeard nervously declined Seven's invitation to drink, claiming he was running errands for Whitebeard because Whitey Bay was pregnant.
  • After the East Blue Emperor sailed away, Blackbeard decided to recruit at Fish-Man Island, head to the West Blue, and avoid Seven in the future.

Ch. 220That Fellow Was Special?

Seven told Bullet that Blackbeard was Rocks' son and planned to make his voyage more difficult by letting Sengoku learn the secret. The Morning Star Crew crossed the Calm Belt through Seven's Conqueror's Haki and reached Amazon Lily, where Rayleigh asked why their ship lacked Sea Prism Stone.

  • Seven revealed to Bullet that Blackbeard was Rocks' son and said Roger had told him the secret.
  • Seven explained that he wanted Rayleigh's help securing a future beneath the sea and advancing his plans for Pure Gold.
  • Jinbe warned that the East Blue Emperor had no Sea Prism Stone as the crew approached the Calm Belt.
  • Seven used his Conqueror's Haki to halt the giant Sea Kings and asked them to let the ship pass.
  • Seven guided the East Blue Emperor safely to Amazon Lily, where Rayleigh questioned him about the missing Sea Prism Stone.

Ch. 221Black Group Vice Captain

Seven recruited Rayleigh and Shakky to help recover treasure from a giant Sea King as the East Blue Emperor sailed away from Amazon Lily Island. On Fish-Man Island, Blackbeard recruited Arlong as his prospective vice captain and promised to take him off the island.

  • Seven asked Rayleigh and Shakky to join him in recovering treasure stolen by a giant Sea King, and they boarded the East Blue Emperor.
  • Rayleigh greeted Bullet aboard the ship while Bullet continued practicing Conqueror's Haki Infusion.
  • Blackbeard searched Fish-Man Island for recruits and decided that Arlong would be his Mihawk-like first recruit.
  • Arlong complained that Fisher Tiger and Jinbe could become pirates while he was being sent toward the Navy, and vowed to kill every Celestial Dragon.
  • Blackbeard introduced himself and proposed that he captain a crew with Arlong as vice captain, but Arlong demanded a chance to be captain instead.
  • Arlong agreed to recognize Blackbeard as captain if Blackbeard could get him off Fish-Man Island, and Blackbeard urged him to set sail.
