The Devil Dao's resonance and the radiance of the Buddhist Path fell together.
Manjushri Bodhisattva stood atop an Auspicious Cloud, dressed in an ornate Daoist robe. His bearing was oddly incongruous as he appeared before the Jingji Ridge Four Old Monsters.
"May the Demon Ancestor be supreme, and the Buddha boundless."
"What are you all whispering about here instead of preparing for the tribulation?"
Manjushri Bodhisattva spoke slowly, his gaze at the four men full of coldness.
Ever since his manhood had been cut off, he had gradually become more effeminate. If not for the criticism from the people of the Demon Sect, he would have long since transformed into an Innate Dao Body and become a female immortal.
However, if he truly became a female immortal, he would end up as the Dao Companion or plaything of some Demon Saint or powerful figure from the Demon Sect.
"We greet Manjushri Bodhisattva!"
The four old monsters cupped their hands slightly and spoke slowly.
Then, Gu Songzhi stepped forward and said calmly, "We weren't discussing anything in particular. We were talking about how to make up for what this tribulation is lacking."
"Now that Empress Apricot Fairy has become Dao Companions with the Immortal Emperor, this setup to tempt Tang Sanzang is short one person!"
Gu Songzhi put on an expression of regret, though inside he was delighted.
The course of this tribulation had long been set.
First, they had to abduct Tang Sanzang and discuss the Dao with him. Then, a reasonably beautiful female immortal had to appear and tempt him, helping him strengthen his resolve to continue westward in search of the scriptures.
Finally, Sun Wukong and the others would rescue their master!
That was the entire sequence of the Jingji Ridge tribulation.
