"Boss, you're finally baaack!"
Along with the slurred shout, Xiao You came racing over at incredible speed and crashed headfirst into his arms.
The moment he caught Xiao You, Feng Qi instinctively looked down. She had buried her head against his chest and refused to look up.
He reached out and rubbed Xiao You's head, a smile appearing on his face.
"Xiao You, why do I feel like you haven't grown at all? Did all those snacks leave you malnourished?"
At his question, Xiao You slowly raised her head, revealing tear-filled eyes. Her lips were still trembling uncontrollably.
"Boss, I missed you so much."
"I missed you too."
Pah. To Xiao You, you'd been gone for a very long time, but for you, it was just closing your eyes and opening them again before seeing Xiao You once more. Missed her my ass. Lying with your eyes open was your most outrageous talent.
Ignoring the narrator's jab, Feng Qi tried to pull Xiao You away from his chest, only to find that she had no intention of letting go.
He rubbed Xiao You's head and continued asking,
"Xiao You, did you grow properly while I was gone?"
"Yes. I did several sit-ups and several push-ups every day. I'm getting stronger and stronger."
Those "several" could probably be counted on one hand. Like, bending over to get out of bed counted as one sit-up. Hahahaha.
The narrator's mockery was exactly what Feng Qi had been thinking.
Xiao You had deliberately blurred the actual number, which proved that she definitely hadn't been growing properly. She was still spending her days eating, drinking, and loafing around.
Seemingly noticing that Feng Qi didn't believe her, Xiao You began rolling up her sleeves to show off her nonexistent muscles, but Feng Qi stopped her.
