"Then that's good. Toneri, you know the ninjas in our village all learned from Lord Akira and love messing with people. If it were anyone else, I definitely wouldn't believe them, but you, Toneri—I trust you."
Hatake Kakashi smiled and patted Otsutsuki Toneri on the shoulder.
"Since you've said so, then there's definitely no problem."
"After all, you are a noble descendant of the Otsutsuki."
He looked as if he trusted Otsutsuki Toneri completely, as though no matter what the Otsutsuki said, he would believe it.
Otsutsuki Toneri's expression stiffened, guilt crossing his face.
If Hatake Kakashi had interrogated him, even threatened or tempted him, he would not have felt this guilty.
But Hatake Kakashi just had to trust him so much.
