Background / History

Tsunade is the granddaughter of Hashirama Senju and Senju Tobirama, as well as Hiruzen Sarutobi's disciple. She carries the political and symbolic weight of the Senju clan's legacy, whose bloodline remains spread throughout Konoha despite the clan's decline. 54

Uchiha Siming's mother is a distant cousin of Tsunade. Their families were close enough that Siming spent time with Tsunade and Nawaki as a child, leading Tsunade to address him as “Siming” and later accept him as family despite his Uchiha identity. 55

She returns to Konoha after receiving information that Danzō was responsible for the deaths of the Senju clan's elite during the Second Shinobi World War. Rather than wait for official action, she publicly demands answers and seriously injures Danzō with a punch before Hiruzen intervenes. 54

Tsunade joins Siming and Kakashi in the Land of Rain to investigate Danzō. Her hemophobia initially leaves her unable to react to a nearby attacker, but she continues the mission using a blindfold to avoid seeing blood and relies on her hearing and instincts in combat. 60 61
