Yoshikage Kira heard a noise behind him. When he looked back, he saw a grotesque-looking squirrel chasing after them.
The squirrel was incredibly fast. In the blink of an eye, it caught up with Vivace and pounced, baring its fangs in a terrifying frenzy.
"Weather Report, watch out!"
Kira warned him, then summoned Killer Queen with a thought and immediately sent out Sheer Heart Attack to help.
Vivace looked back and quickly summoned Weather Report. He threw a punch, and the clouds around his hand turned into spikes that pierced the squirrel in an instant, following the path of his fist.
"Squeak!"
The squirrel fell to the ground, its wounds rapidly healing. It darted back and forth like lightning, searching for a weakness in Vivace's defenses.
"It's too fast. I need to launch a wide-area attack."
Vivace glanced at Kira and Jolyne ahead of him. With a thought, dark clouds suddenly filled the sky, and huge raindrops fell in quick succession, soaking the ground.
"Freeze."
Vivace raised his hand. Several wisps of cloud appeared around him, and a faint flash of lightning passed through them. The rain instantly turned into ice spikes that pierced the squirrel from below.
This was Vivace's first attempt at using tiny whirlwinds to shape streams of water, then freezing them with an extreme cold front to inflict a piercing wound.
"It's still alive after that? How strange."
The squirrel's form changed. Wings sprouted from its ribs, and it struggled free of the ice spikes before beating its wings and charging at them at incredible speed.
"Defend!"
A barrier formed from a mass of clouds. The squirrel smashed into it, leaving itself bloodied, then turned away from Vivace and charged toward Kira and Jolyne.
"Watch out!"
Vivace shouted a warning and ran with all his might
