The next day.
I was eating the breakfast Qing Ye had prepared when I suddenly called out, "Qing Ye."
"Hmm?"
"Your Lineage's address... it was in the Northern Region, wasn't it? I remember that adding sauce to peanuts seemed to be a taste preference over there." I chewed my food, speaking in a casual, relaxed tone.
Qing Ye's voice remained calm. "I learned the recipe from disciples in the sect and the Northern Region."
"I see." My gaze didn't change. I took another small bite, and sleepiness washed over me again.
In my current state, it wasn't a good idea to think too much.
But I still couldn't control my thoughts.
Clatter—
I stared blankly at my little hand as it let go. The porcelain bowl I'd just picked up slipped from my grasp while I was distracted.
It didn't hit the floor as I expected. Qing Ye caught it steadily. "Are you... feeling unwell?"
"I'm a little dizzy." I wiped my mouth and lay back down on the bed. "I'm a bit tired. Let me rest for a while."
Qing Ye looked down at the little bowl she was holding. I'd only eaten a small fraction of what was in it.
Her Junior Sister usually had a much bigger appetite.
Seeing that I'd curled up into a ball, she knew there was no point saying anything more, and went outside.
Perhaps she could make Junior Sister a little dessert later.
Junior Sister threw up whenever she saw eggs now, so egg tarts and other such sweets were out of the question.
What should she make instead?
In a corner of the courtyard.
The little Ginkgo Tree swayed gently in the breeze. Qing Ye paused and gazed at it, an idea suddenly taking shape.
She could make Peach Blossom Crisps
