They all knew that Houtu had left the Witch Clan to travel the Primordial World in search of the Opportunity to Become a Saint. But they hadn't expected her journey to last over ten thousand years—or that she would truly succeed in proving the Dao at the Sea of Blood.
Houtu's Becoming a Saint should have been good news for the Witch Clan. But after giving up her Witch Body and gaining a primordial spirit, their youngest sister could no longer be considered part of the Witch Clan.
This left several Ancestral Witches, who had always been deeply devoted to their siblings, deeply hurt.
Now that they were reunited, Dijiang and the others could all see that Houtu was no longer the Houtu they had known. None of them knew what to do.
Pingxin had become the Lord of the Earthly Dao. Though she was now a Saint, she still felt attached to the Witch Clan. Sadness showed in her eyes as she spoke mournfully. "Elder Brother, Houtu has passed away. I am now Pingxin, who governs reincarnation and the Earthly Dao. Under the Heavenly Dao, Saints cannot interfere in the Witch-Demon War. I can only entrust the Witch Clan to all of you, my elder brothers and sisters."
