Ch. 222The Five Elders of Heavenly Court, Each Contending for Their Place
Qing Chan and Tai Cang secured permission to travel, while the Saints and their disciples gathered at Heavenly Court to divide its honored positions. The Six Emperors' seats were postponed until after the Investiture of the Gods, and the Five Elders' positions remained contested as the chapter ended.
- Qing Chan asked East King Duke and Queen Mother of the West to let her and Tai Cang travel, and East King Duke persuaded Queen Mother of the West to agree while protecting the children with strands of Yin-Yang Law.
- The Saints brought their disciples to Heavenly Court, where the Mystic Gate disciples glared at Duobao and the Buddhist Gate, but Zhao Gongming stopped Bixiao from confronting them.
- Haotian greeted the gathered Saints, who took keen interest in Jun Tian Dao Venerable and his cultivation.
- Primordial proposed that the Human, Chan, and Jie Sects each receive one of the remaining Six Emperors' seats, but Zhunti demanded a Buddhist seat and argued with Primordial.
- East King Duke and Jun Tian Dao Venerable proposed postponing the Six Emperors' seats until after the Investiture of the Gods and establishing the Five Elders first.
- Jieyin and Zhunti claimed one Five Elders' position for the Buddhist Gate, and Taiqing Laozi claimed one for each of the Human, Chan, and Jie Sects before another speaker unexpectedly spoke up.
