Shinji wasn't in a hurry, though. He continued fishing for information from Heiguang, chatting with him on and off.
Heiguang was an information broker, after all, and quickly caught on. He smiled and said, "Anything related to the Overlords is the hottest and most valuable information in the circle. A mere ten thousand Black Card points won't be enough!"
Shinji asked outright, "How much?"
Heiguang froze for a moment, then eyed Shinji suspiciously. "Hey, you haven't gotten yourself into some kind of trouble, have you?"
Shinji lifted his Blue Dream and took a sip. "It's always good to know more and be prepared."
Heiguang nodded. "The information I have on the Overlords is all pretty basic, so I won't charge you much. How about a hundred thousand points?"
"Deal!"
Shinji pulled out his Black Card.
After the points had been transferred, Heiguang said, "There are plenty of newcomers like you. Once they learn the Overlords exist, anyone would worry that their world might be targeted. But you're the first to swipe your card so generously without even stopping to think about it."
A smile played on Shinji's lips.
By now, he had a rough idea of what a million points on the Black Card were worth. Without a doubt, it was a fortune.
That was probably one reason Heiguang had been so attentive to him.
An ordinary Lantern Bearer would probably be eager to buy weapons, energy sources, prosthetic limbs, cybernetic bodies, and other things that could quickly boost their combat strength. Even if they wanted to learn about the Overlords, they would carefully weigh the price first.
But Shinji was different. He was interested in this world's technology, too, but now that he had found a way to learn about the Overlords, he wasn't about to pass it up.
