"Open your Sage Mode and let me see!" Shinji said as he brought Haku to the central training ground.
"Yes!"
Haku bowed and accepted the order.
Then he closed his eyes and took a moment to prepare before letting out a soft cry.
With the cry, a puff of mist escaped his mouth. A faint shadow appeared around his eyes, and a small horn sprouted from his forehead.
Shinji narrowed his eyes slightly.
Haku's "Sage Mode" seemed somewhat different from Kabuto Yakushi's. Kabuto's "Sage Mode" clearly imitated the process of a snake turning into a dragon. The closer his appearance came to a dragon, the more powerful his "Sage Mode" became.
By contrast, Haku's "Sage Mode" had little in common with a snake.
Soon, the mist Haku had exhaled gradually formed a thin veil, somewhere between water and vapor, that draped over him like a "Tailed Beast Cloak." The only difference was that this Chakra Cloak was made of mist.
When Haku's appearance stopped changing, Shinji asked, puzzled, "This is your 'Sage Mode'?"
Haku gave a slight nod. "Yes!"
Shinji walked over, circling Haku as he studied him. "It looks completely different from Kabuto Yakushi's 'Sage Mode'!"
In fact, it wasn't just different from Kabuto's. Haku's "Sage Mode" also differed from Mitsuki's in the original timeline.
Haku explained, "Ryūchi Cave has rules. Kabuto Yakushi is their contracted shinobi for this generation, and they aren't planning to take on any other contractors in the near future."
Shinji's expression darkened. "So they didn't teach you Senjutsu?"
"Not exactly." Haku smiled. "After Kabuto Yakushi told the White Snake Sage that I was your subordinate, she didn't teach me Ryūchi Cave's Senjutsu, but she did make an exception and arrange for someone to guide me in absorbing Natural Energy and combining it with Senjutsu
