Obito had finally finished another day of live experimentation, still strapped to the operating table.
The pain all over his body gradually faded, replaced by a cold numbness. All he could do was endure it, breathing weakly.
Just then, he heard the researchers talking beside him.
"029's body has such a high compatibility with White Zetsu Cells. Has the quality of his Chakra reached the normal maximum?"
"Yeah, it's definitely at the peak!"
Obito's ears twitched, and he listened intently.
He knew that the "029" the researchers were talking about was him, but he didn't understand what they meant by "maximum peak."
The two researchers kept chatting.
"I heard Group 3 has made some new progress?"
"Shh, keep your voice down. Don't let 029 hear you!"
"So what if he hears? It's not like he can escape."
"True!"
"What exactly did Group 3 achieve?"
"It's related to 029, actually. I don't know how they did it, but apparently they evolved 029's pair of Mangekyō Sharingan into the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan!"
At that, Obito shuddered and thought, My Mangekyō Sharingan turned into the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan? How is that possible?

The two researchers didn't seem to notice Obito on the operating table and kept talking.
