When he saw the towering Divine Tree rising straight into the clouds, Owl froze for a moment. Then he recalled the many rumors he had heard about the Divine Tree, and his heart tightened. "Could this be the legendary Divine Tree?"
Shinji said coolly, "Follow me!"
"Yes, yes!"
Owl nodded and bowed, then followed Shinji as they flew to the top of the Divine Tree.
At the top, Owl gazed at the bud, rising and falling like a heartbeat, and his curiosity swelled. Unable to resist, he asked, "My lord, what is this?"
Shinji stood off to one side and said coolly, "Go closer and take a look. You'll find out!"
Unable to contain himself, Owl hurried toward the bud, taking two steps at a time.
He was so eager because although his instincts warned him that the bud was extremely dangerous, they also told him it was an incredibly precious treasure. He couldn't help wanting to get a closer look.
Just as Owl reached the bud and leaned forward to peer inside, it suddenly opened and swallowed him whole.
"Damn it!"
Owl struggled with all his might.
