After observing them for a while, Shinji asked, "How are you two feeling?"

Neji touched his smooth forehead. He paused, then said, "My body doesn't feel any different. But what about the Tenseigan? Wasn't it on my forehead just now?"

Kimimaro, whose expression was usually impassive, looked puzzled too.

Before Shinji could say anything, 'H' explained, "Don't panic. The Tenseigan has only gone dormant. Otherwise, all three of us would be dead!"

Judging by Neji and Kimimaro's reactions, neither of them seemed to have gained anything from the attempt to awaken the Tenseigan.

After all, when an original host successfully evolved a Kekkei Genkai involving a dōjutsu, their Chakra would increase greatly in both quantity and quality.

Karin, for example, had grown even stronger after awakening the Rinnegan, gaining the physical capacity to bear a pair of Rinnegan.

But Neji, Kimimaro, and even 'H', who had completed the Tenseigan's awakening, had gained no significant improvement from its evolution.

This meant that their cooperation had merely served as a sophisticated incubator. Thanks to Shinji's precise calculations, they had managed to cultivate a pair of Tenseigan by sheer luck, but had not achieved a spiritual resonance with them.

In other words,

the pair of Tenseigan still had no true original host. Neji and Kimimaro were both merely temporary hosts.

Still, this had shown Shinji the enormous difference between ordinary shinobi and the Otsutsuki.
