Background / History

Karin is an Uzumaki orphan whom Kusagakure placed in Konoha through Jiraiya. The village's plan was to have Naruto assassinated, then exploit Karin's Uzumaki bloodline to make her Konoha's likely replacement Nine-Tails Jinchuriki and seize the beast afterward. 75

Kusagakure also used her as an intelligence asset, ordering her to approach Sasuke and Shinji and investigate the Akatsuki Organization. Shinji uncovered her connection to the operation, offered her protection in return for service, and brought her into his organization. 43 106
