Staring at Mizuki, an ANBU interrogator asked, "Mizuki, are you still refusing to confess?"
Mizuki shook his head. "I have nothing to confess."
The ANBU said, "Naruto has already confessed. You told him about the Scroll of Seals, and you also told him it was in Lord Hokage's residence."
Mizuki shrugged. "I just let it slip by accident."
The ANBU continued questioning him. "Then why were you in the woods after Naruto stole the Scroll of Seals? And why did you try to take it from him?"
"Afterward, I realized I'd let it slip, so I went to check." Mizuki paused, then continued making excuses. "As for trying to take the Scroll of Seals, that was a complete misunderstanding. I was just so shocked that Naruto had actually stolen it that I wanted to take it back and return it to the village."
"Is that so?" The ANBU gave a cold laugh. "Then why were you fully armed? If I remember correctly, it was your time off."
Mizuki's expression darkened.
He had no way to explain that away. But he knew that if he held out, he still had a chance. Once he confessed, he'd be finished.
