For the next few days, Shinji didn't immediately perform the transplant surgery on Yakumo. Instead, he extracted samples of her cells and tested how they fused with White Zetsu Cells, while keeping an eye on the village's surveillance of her.
After several rounds of testing, he found that Yakumo was indeed a fairly good candidate for a White Zetsu cell transplant.
White Zetsu Cells were, in essence, diluted First Hokage cells.
Though diluted, the Yang Release Chakra contained within White Zetsu Cells was still outrageously domineering. Ordinary people would die from the slightest contact with it.
To fuse with White Zetsu Cells, a host needed either Yang Release Chakra of similar strength, like Karin, who could simply withstand the cells' invasion, or sufficiently powerful Yin Release Chakra, like Obito, who could use a balance of yin and yang to neutralize it.
So the Kurama Clan, who excelled at genjutsu and had Yin Release Chakra as their primary affinity, might not be quite as suitable as the Uchiha Clan, but they were definitely better candidates for White Zetsu cell transplants than ordinary people.
Even so, the risks were still enormous!
Or rather, the risks of a White Zetsu cell transplant could never be entirely eliminated—not even for Shinji, who possessed the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.
That was why he had yet to transplant White Zetsu Cells into himself.
As for the village's surveillance of Yakumo, after observing her for several days, Shinji confirmed that it had indeed been lifted.
There hadn't been a single ANBU agent around Yakumo for days, though Shinji didn't understand why.
After confirming that Yakumo might be able to fuse with White Zetsu Cells and that the village had stopped monitoring her, Shinji thought it over and decided to perform a Red Dragon Eye transplant on her first.
