When Shinji found Shion on the training field, she wasn't warming up and waiting for him as she usually did. Instead, she was gathered with Sakura, Ino, and Hinata, talking about Yakumo becoming Tsunade's apprentice.
As soon as Shion saw Shinji coming over, she hurried up to him. "Shinji, Shinji, have you heard? Lord Tsunade took Yakumo as her student!"
Shinji nodded. "I heard."
Shion asked, "Do you think if I went to ask Lord Tsunade right now, she'd take me as her student? If I could become a student of one of the Sannin, I'd definitely get really strong!"
Shinji was about to answer when he noticed Sasuke training alone not far away. It seemed he had perked up his ears to eavesdrop on their conversation.
Shion's words had clearly caught Sasuke's interest. He was just too embarrassed to come over, so he pretended to train while secretly listening in.
Shion sighed to herself. "Ugh, Lord Tsunade definitely won't take me as her student! Yakumo caught her eye because she beat Sasuke. I can't beat him."
Shinji noticed that Sasuke's eye seemed to twitch.
Shion suddenly said, "Shinji, I'll tell you a secret!"
Shinji casually asked, "What secret?"
Shion leaned close to Shinji's ear and whispered mysteriously, "Do you know where Naruto's been all these days?"
Perhaps because Shion had suddenly lowered her voice, Sasuke edged closer to Shinji and perked up his ears even more.
Shion whispered, "I saw Naruto yesterday when I went to visit Yakumo at the hospital. He said he hadn't been coming to school because he was training a secret technique with some old guy! Do you know who
