Back in his apartment, Sasuke toyed with the mask the organization had given him. Seeing the design on it, he smirked.
"Not bad. I'm the Hawk of Revenge!"
As he spoke, he reached up to touch his forehead and closed his eyes, sensing the Mangekyō Sharingan he had just awakened.
Although he had successfully awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, he didn't rush off to find Itachi and take revenge.
Unlike in the original timeline, he now understood much better how powerful the Mangekyō Sharingan was!

His understanding of the Mangekyō Sharingan came mainly from "A" and "B" in the Akatsuki Organization. He simply didn't know that the eyes in Shinji and Karin's sockets weren't ordinary Mangekyō Sharingan, but Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan with everlasting Dōjutsu power.
So his understanding of the Mangekyō Sharingan was actually seriously flawed.
Sasuke's eyes snapped open. "Once I've fully mastered the power of the Mangekyo, I'll come for you, Itachi Uchiha!"
His two newly acquired Mangekyo Dojutsu, along with the long-coveted Susanoo, had sent his confidence soaring.
In his eyes, he was no less talented than Itachi. As long as he got used to the Mangekyō Sharingan, revenge was just around the corner!

Just then, Sasuke suddenly sensed that something, somewhere, seemed to be drawing out his Chakra.
He instinctively tried to resist, but then remembered the leader's earlier instructions. After a moment's hesitation, he let it happen.
He still needed the organization's help to take revenge. Besides, he felt he owed the leader a huge favor, so giving up a little Chakra was only fair.
"Shinji."
With a silent sigh, Sasuke let his Chakra be drawn away.
