Inside the Hokage Office.
After the meeting ended, the Third kept Kakashi behind. Once the others had been dismissed, he asked in a low voice, "Can Sasuke be trusted?"
Kakashi was startled at first, then said, "He is Sasuke Uchiha of Konoha!"
After pondering for a moment, the Third instructed, "Go and confirm it again. You must give the Elder Council an explanation regarding the purple Susanoo!"
There were currently only four recorded Susanoo in the village. Aside from Sasuke's, the other three were Madara Uchiha's blue Susanoo, Akatsuki Organization's 'A,' which was golden, and Akatsuki Organization's 'B,' which was red.
Thus, no Susanoo of the same color had yet appeared in the village's records, forcing the village higher-ups to suspect Sasuke.
Moreover, the Elder Council, led by Danzo, had supported exterminating the Uchiha Clan back then. Therefore, once they discovered any sign that Sasuke Uchiha, the surviving Uchiha, intended to betray the village, the Elder Council would never let him off easily, even if there were only the slightest possibility.
"I understand!"
Kakashi nodded, his expression turning even more solemn.
After leaving the Hokage Building, Kakashi did not delay and went straight to the Ninja Academy, where he ran into Sasuke, who happened to be heading home after school.
"Well, what a coincidence?"
Kakashi pretended that they had met by chance and greeted him.
Sasuke was troubled by the loss of the Dojutsu in his right eye, so he replied irritably, "What is it? Did you need something?"
"Nothing. We just happened to run into each other." Kakashi smiled and continued, "It's dinner time anyway. Let me treat you to a meal!"
Sasuke nodded coldly.
After eating his fill at the restaurant, Kakashi casually asked, "How have you been doing at the Ninja Academy lately?"
Sasuke brushed him off.
