A red skeletal arm emerged from Karin's body as she lay on the bed. It seized Shinji, who was standing beside her, and lifted him into the air.

Beneath his mask, Shinji's expression was uncertain and alarmed.
The moment he sensed something was wrong, he had cast a genjutsu on Karin.
But the genjutsu that had never failed him before had no effect this time. Karin wasn't subdued. She only froze for a moment before breaking free.
"M-Master! How could this happen?!"
Like Shinji, Karin was lying on the bed, looking terrified.
She had simply followed Shinji's instructions and focused her attention on the Mangekyō in her eye socket. Somehow, she had activated its Dojutsu.
Caught in the grip of Karin's Susanoo, Shinji stopped struggling so as not to provoke her and said calmly, "Don't panic. Your Dojutsu is running wild!"
"What should I do now?"
Karin was at a loss.
Shinji continued to reassure her. "Too much unstable Yang Release Chakra suddenly flooded your body and stirred the Dojutsu of your Mangekyō Sharingan. That's why this is happening. Listen carefully. Don't resist my genjutsu. I'll help you deactivate the Dojutsu."
