The instant he turned off [Ghost Form], Gauss felt his legs go weak as the strength that had filled him abruptly drained away.
A distinct sense of weakness spread through his body.
"Phew—"
He let out a long breath.
After experiencing such powerful strength, returning to normal felt somewhat uncomfortable.
He took some jerky and a Lantern Ball Fruit from his Storage Bag and stuffed them into his mouth.
A slight dizziness came over him. It was caused by a lack of energy.
Fortunately, he had finished the fight quickly, so the dizziness wasn't too severe.
"Captain, are you all right?"
Theron was the first to arrive. He glanced at the unconscious stranger on the ground, then looked at Gauss and asked.
Gauss's face was slightly pale, and he was clearly exhausted.
"I'm fine."
"Sit down and rest for a bit. Let me check you over," Theron insisted.
As the team's healer, he had to make sure Gauss was in good shape.
Bathed in Theron's healing light, Gauss felt some of the fatigue in his body ease, and his physical functions gradually recovered.
Alya lightly hopped down from Ulfhen's back.
First, she tied up the unconscious "enemy" with a rope, then went over to Gauss.
Only after she saw some color gradually return to his cheeks did she speak.
"Who are these people?"
"Hyenas from the maze. I don't know when they started following us." Gauss glanced at the enemies tied up tightly on the ground.
Even though he had held back, the punch he'd thrown in Ghost Form had still been a hard one.
The back of the man's head was caved in. After sliding several meters, he'd scraped the skin off his face, chin, and elbows, exposing raw pink flesh as blood slowly seeped out. He looked miserable.
